Following Maggie

Sometimes you find exactly what - or who - you need when you least expect it. That's the general theme here with Maggie and Sebastian. Now, I'll just go ahead and admit that insta-love books don't usually have an impact on me like Following Maggie did. As it turns out, it was just what I needed to remind me that great things can be waiting right around the next corner. And for the record, just because insta-love seems unlikely, I personally know a couple, one that is very dear to me, who married 6 weeks after they met, and they've celebrated 60 years together. Anyway, Maggie and Sebastian are terrific characters, and they're the type of couple you can't help but want good things for. I was already rooting for these two before they even left the airport. This is a novella-length romance, so much more detail, and I'll be giving away all the book's secrets. Suffice it to say that this is one more reason Melanie Moreland, whether it's a new release or a tried-and-true favorite, is a go-to author for me.

Following Maggie by Melanie Moreland is a short contemporary romance story. It is part of the Coming Home series of nine books all by different authors based on Let Love Guide You Home. This sweet book about love and hope is like someone giving you a big hug then telling you everything will be alright in the end. The couple are adorable and it is definitely about being in the right place at the right time. Complete strangers meeting and providing exactly what the other one needs.
Maggie Andrews and Sebastian Ruggers find themselves stuck at the airport due to a snow storm cancelling all the flights. Maggie is feeling very lonely after she has been struck by a couple of tragic events and isn’t sure where her life is taking her. Sebastian is feeling lost after all his dreams have evaporated and left him with no other options but to return home to his father. It is a life he really doesn’t want.
Maggie is concerned about the gorgeous man opposite her because although asleep, he was fidgeting and seemed restless. When she goes over to him she notices apart from exhaustion, he also looks sad and she has an overwhelming urge to help and comfort him. Sebastian wakes up to a lovely woman holding his hand and at first thinks she is an angel as disoriented.
With no flights leaving they chat and get to know one another. He is a penniless musician who just wants people to listen to his music and she has found herself in between things. He finds she is easy to talk to and tells her things he has never told anyone before. She enjoys hearing all about him and finding out what they have in common.
Both are struggling with life at the moment for different reasons and feel alone. They have got new lives to start but their connection is like nothing either experienced before. She has shown him more care and understanding than anyone else has for years and he wants more.
They both realise they may never see each other again. Will it just be a fleeting moment in their lives or is it a chance for something they both desperately want. Could they explore what they are feeling? Their lives could change forever depending on their decisions. There are two paths his life could take, could he risk it all to follow her home?
A moving and thoroughly enjoyable heartwarming tale that doesn’t take long to read. Their story is engrossing and the secondary characters really add to the story. It makes a change to read a book these days that is just about the couple figuring it all out, with little angst and being enough for each other. A wonderful mixture of friendship, acceptance, hopes and dreams being realised in ways they didn’t expect. A true love that is meant to be and destiny fulfilled.

When you need a feel-good story that puts a grin on your face, all you need to do is turn to a Melanie Moreland Insta-Spark book. Following Maggie is part of the Coming Home multi-author series where each theme of the story is about "Love finding your way home."

In several social media posts, Ms. Moreland said she had drafted this story years ago inspired by the real-life story of a couple who met and married while stranded in a storm layover in Canada.

Sebastian and Maggie find themselves stranded in a terminal awaiting the storm to lift and continue their travels. There is something about each other that reaches out and touches the other. A connection and a need to know more. The story doesn't stop there. Ms. Moreland follows the couple as they travel to a small town for them both to start over.

Once again the storytelling gives you an evening read for the sheer enjoyment of watching a pair fated to meet fall in love and find their home. Touching, laughs, and sexy times as you'll always find in an engaging novel.

You know that feeling when you meet someone for the first time, but after just a few minutes, feel like they’ve been around all your life? That's what I got from this story. The feeling of comfort, reliable and hopeful happiness from two characters that have gone through some not so happy moments in their past but found peace and understanding in each other.

Hot chemistry and beautiful love from this short story that I adored.
