Asher is a wealthy Philanthropist whose life ...
Asher is a wealthy Philanthropist whose life is his work because he makes money to give away to less fortunate people. He has suffered a tragedy in the past and even though he has a sister and a niece he adores, he is a loner. Rosie is a single parent to an absolutely adorable little boy AJ. She works two jobs to make sure he is provided for but it means she constantly goes without. They live in a small apartment which is old and regularly has no heat. She struggles through life without any help and is regularly exhausted but is proud and independent.
They meet by chance when she is desperately looking for her son when he disappears after a visit to see Santa. Shouting out her son’s name draws Asher’s attention because he thinks she is calling for him! The first interactions between the two Asher’s are wonderful and so funny especially when AJ tells Asher about his mum because he’s a good boy!
Asher is fascinated by Rosie and suddenly wants to help her and give her everything. He falls hard and fast even though he knows he is out of his depth with her. He realises he isn’t being rational but can’t stop thinking about her. She’s awoken something inside him and he loves she likes him as himself as she’s no idea who he is or how wealthy he is.
She feels the intense connection between them but is scared it is all too fast. She knows he is struggling to be patient because she fights him at every turn but it’s not only her heart on the line.
She gets cross when he overreacts at times but she also sees the loving relationship he and AJ have quickly built.
What starts as a fun meet cute, develops into a honest and loving relationship between two very relatable people. Their lives are so different but not necessarily better. You will smile at all Asher does to show Rosie his feelings are true. He certainly is the best Christmas present for Rosie and AJ. The little bit of angst is understandable and as usual we get a fantastic epilogue from Melanie. Enjoy this story about an absolute gentleman, a wonderful mother and an enchanting little boy.
