But there was still that crap.
Determined to rescue the partner he’d left behind Luke Daniels finds himself embroiled in a situation way bigger than anything he’s ever faced before in this action packed adventure that also doubles as a in depth history lesson of the former USSR. I can guarantee you’ll never look up at the sky the same way again after reading this!

I’ve always been crazy, but it’s kept me from going insane.
This was my first foray into James Lee Burke’s world and it will not be my last by any means. He takes us back to the nineties in southern Louisiana and Mississippi where Clete takes centerstage as he tries to make sense of a host of random events that start with his car being stripped to visits from the legendary Joan of Arc. Dark and gritty, disturbing at times, this novel stays with you well after you shut the cover. Absolutely five stars!

Wonderful!
Having found Max’s nephew and his granddaughter in the previous installments of this series Amanda and Grandpa Dave’s family has grown exponentially and it’s been an amazing ride. Now when Dwight suspects foul play at his nursing home when several of his friends die unexpectedly, Amanda, Max and another distant relative, Detective Ryan (from the Down South Cafe series), are determined that they’ll all have a merry Christmas. This one was a page turner that kept me up until the wee hours!

Amanda whole heartedly embraces a new challenge, costume design, in the second book in the Ghostly Fashionista series. Hired to create the costumes for the local high school’s upcoming Beauty and the Beast play Amanda finds herself embroiled in yet another murder when the woman in charge of the play is found dead. Throw in her research to see what happened to Max’s family and she’s got her hands full. Great world building in an absolutely delightful series.
I’m just peachy keen and hunky dory
What would it take to bring the black sheep in the Reed family home for good? The murder of his father and then the stalking of the girl he once loved that is now a judge in Resolute. Considering being a bodyguard is his profession, he knows there is no one better to watch out for his sister’s best friend, Sara, than him and he reluctantly accepts the job and vows to see it through to the bitter end even if she breaks his heart again. Or will he? I love Resolute, I love the Reed family and I can’t wait to see what this wonderful author is going to share with us next. Whatever it is, it will be a treat!

Any visit to Harmony and the dust bunnies is a welcome one but I felt like this installment didn’t quite get off the ground. I kept waiting for the heart of the story...the danger, the romance, the adventure and it never happened. The main characters, Molly and Joshua, quickly achieved their objective, rescue the lost expedition and then the rest was mostly filler with a side of dust bunnies. While it set up the next book in the series I wish there had just been a little more...Jayne Ann in this one.
This would make a perfect Hallmark worthy rom com movie of the week if not for the fact that the author expertly weaves a few deeper issues into the plot that make it even more engaging and hard to put down. Starting over and leaving your past behind isn’t as easy as Em would like it to have been but she’s embracing the opportunity to finally live and it suits her well. Her banter with Keir and her relationship with his mother is just icing on the cake and as an added bonus we get updates on Sam and Ben!
She had made a mistake
You never know who is hiding in plain sight on Lookout Mountain and in this case we have the ex wife of a recently released serial killer who is intent on reclaiming his son. When bodies start to pile up and unexplained things start happening around her Grace isn’t so sure she’s not having a breakdown, again. But she has the sheriff’s deputy in charge of that part of the mountain on her side willing to do anything for her and her son. This is a thrilling ride, heavy on the suspense and light on the romance. I love this series and everything else the author puts out there!

What would Nancy Do?
If Nancy Drew were in her early twenties, a tad bit flighty and more than a little self absorbed she’d be Petra Jackson and that’s okay. I really enjoyed the humor and her antics, however painful they were at times although I might not classify it as a typical romantic suspense. There was next to no romance until you reach the last few pages and the suspense...was more Scooby Doo inspired hijinks yet I loved every page and would to see more of this couple down the road.

Kissing me is an anchor?
When you think life at Saddlebrook Ranch in Emerald Creek, Texas can’t get more complicated, it does, as youngest son Blue finds out after he crash lands his fighter jet during a demonstration flight and is forced home to recover. Having woke up the news he’s got a ‘girlfriend’ and a son he previously knew nothing about he handles that gracefully while being riddled with guilt over the unintended fallout of his crash that hurt others. His only distraction is Marin and Leo, and making sure they stay where they belong when Leo’s actual father shows up with nefarious intentions. And that’s just a recap that barely scraps the surface among the goings on in the second installment of the series! A true page turner, I can’t wait for book three.
