Another great visit to Briar Creek! This time there is an author in residence at the library and it seems that she may have a stalker or two who aren't pleased at the choice of author. Lindsay is on her guard and enlists help from her fellow library crafters to assist in finding out why the author is being targeted with possibly having her books banned by one member of the community and threatened by a tourist. When the tourist turns up dead lots of secrets are revealed. Chief Emma wants this case closed asap as Christmas is in just a few days...

When Tate tells Mel and Angie that two of the Arizona Scorpions football players are buying one of their cupcake bakery franchises they think he's joking until the two massive players walk into the shop to say it's true. Keogh and Tyler are investing in their for after their football careers are over. While most people the players know are excited for them a few are not. Mainly the owner of the team. When he turns up dead at the new bakery Keogh is the main suspect. Then when the coach is killed in his office it looks really bad for both players. Will they stay out of jail and sell cupcakes or is the new bakery doomed before it starts.

This would make a perfect Hallmark worthy rom com movie of the week if not for the fact that the author expertly weaves a few deeper issues into the plot that make it even more engaging and hard to put down. Starting over and leaving your past behind isn’t as easy as Em would like it to have been but she’s embracing the opportunity to finally live and it suits her well. Her banter with Keir and her relationship with his mother is just icing on the cake and as an added bonus we get updates on Sam and Ben!

Lindsey and her husband Sully are in Chicago for a conference Lindsey wanted to attend about archiving and restoring books when Lindsey finds a very rare book under her seat. She gives it to the event coordinator who states he will return it to the owner. On the train going back to Briar Creek the event coordinator is murdered in the room next to Lindsey and Sully. The train stops at the next station, Briar Creek, where the police chief Emma and the FBI are waiting. Even tho they are now home, nothing goes smoothly for Sully and Lindsey, especially for Sully.

Briar Creek has finally thawed after a thankfully cold but peaceful winter for newlywed Lindsey Norris Sullivan and her husband. But not for long. The mayoral lection takes a heated turn when a body is found in the back of candidate Ms. Coles car. Seeing an opportunity to use this to his advantage in the upcoming election the current mayor leads the way in a character assassination on Ms. Cole and by association Lindsey and the library. Lindsey’s not going to sit idly by when her friend is framed for murder! Another fine installment in The Library Lover’s Mystery series and not one you want to miss and Allyson Ryan brings the characters to life in the audiobook version!
