^{The streets of downtown Amsterdam seem quiet tonight, as I cross through the square and head for the back alleys. Unusual for a Saturday, but then the revelry from the earlier parade seems to have died down to nothing but a few people meandering around. I smile and think of my sister, Annalise, this afternoon, her hair and makeup showing the gay pride characteristics to maximum delight, arms in the air as she sang along with the music. Sweet. And very much necessary since she’s come out fully. It’s been easier for her to do now we’re over here rather than back home in a town with no ability to deal with anything other than hetero mundanity.}

  ^{The cold whips against my skin, as I quicken my pace, making me tighten my coat to keep the shiver from riding over my barely there clothing beneath. Long black patent boots, stockings and a corset. Matching black leather knickers to give the overall outfit maximum impact when he sees me. Not that he cares, or would show if he did, but I like to try pleasing him. Twice a year I get a chance with him. I can’t afford anymore, and even if I could I doubt he’d let me. Master never lets me do what I want, apart from this kind gesture of letting me be in his presence. As and when the dates fit his schedule.}

^{I pant, watching my breath cloud the cold winter snap around me, and check the time. 10pm. I’m late, and really a little too tipsy to be doing this anymore, but the afternoon was so wonderful, so full of energy and fun, that I couldn’t help but get drawn into the atmosphere. Silly. I shouldn’t have gotten carried away with them, should have gotten home earlier to change. I shake my head and turn the corners, passing the wealthy boarding school with its high arched windows, feet taking me deeper and deeper into the quarters where he resides. He met me somewhere else the first few times, travelled to England for me, but then when I moved over here and contacted the message board to update my details, messaging him with a request at the same time, I found out he lives here. This is the first time I’ve been allowed into his home, though.}

^{Maybe that means something.}

^{I can only hope.}

^{The sight of the large houses eventually comes into view, canal running along the front of them. I smile again and head for the run of snow laden trees lining the avenue, eyes scanning the numbers on the doors. I don’t know why. I know exactly where he lives. I passed it this afternoon and tried not to look in the windows, tried to pretend this was a new road to me, but it wasn’t. The moment he sent me his address that evening I ran out the door and found my way to it to see where a man like him would live. It’s huge, four floors of old townhouse that’s been modernised to within an inch of its life. White stone. An imposing red front door, one with all sorts of secrets hiding behind it. I look at it at as I approach, gripping at my flapping coat to stop the world seeing what I’ve got on underneath, and pull in some calming breaths.}

^{Nearly there.}

^{It looks so beautiful, so serene. A low orange glow reflects on the windows, a fire maybe - soft and twinkling against the harsher street lights I’m hurrying by. Pretty. Just like him. I half laugh, as I slow my pace to get some composure back. There is nothing pretty about Master, and I dare say he’d punish me for such a thought, especially if I tried to utter it into the air around him. My light smile turns into a naughty smirk, possibly fuelled by the alcohol I shouldn’t have drunk. Perhaps I should tell him how pretty he is, just to get a feel of his reaction to it. We’ve done restraint enough for my liking, and I’m no longer a new sub who doesn’t understand this world like I was when we first met. I’m a seasoned sub under him now, one who’d like a little more than he offers, no matter the consequence.}
