Campfires, Courage, & Convicts is the 27th book in the Camper & Criminals Cozy Mystery series by Tonya Kappes.

It’s the Bourbon Festival in Normal, KY. Mae West accepted Hank’s proposal and now all anyone can ask her is when the wedding will be. Mae uses her volunteer position to go check out a potential new trail to get away from everyone. Of course, it doesn’t go as planned.

At first I couldn’t understand why Mae was so reluctant to set a date, but I was in tears at the end. It made so much sense. There were plenty of surprises about this case and what will probably ...

This is a wonderful story and a fantastic series. Mae and the Laundry Club Ladies again solve another murder. Mae and Hank are fantastic. I love that Hank now wants Mae to help him solve the crimes. This story is well written and it will make you laugh. Dottie is a wonderful character. I love the descriptions of the trails and the campgrounds. I received a copy of this book from the publisher for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

This is another book in the series where I had difficulty pinpointing the perpetrator which pulls me into the story even more. In fact, I had to slow myself down because I wanted to just skip ahead to the end and find out who did it, but I am glad that I read every word.

I feel at home when I read the books in this series because the characters are well-developed, and the scenery is described in exquisite detail. I can visualize the entire area of Normal when I am reading from the campground, to the Milkery, and of course the downtown area with Deter’s Feed-N-Seed, Trails Coffee, and the Laundry Club.

The books in this series never disappoint and are stand-alone but I suggest starting at the beginning and developing your own relationship with Mae, Hank, and the rest of the crew in Normal, KY. You will want to keep coming back for more.

All the books in this series are fantastic. I think this one is my favorite so far. Lots going on with Mae, Hank & the Laundry Club ladies as they work through this latest murder mystery. The ending…. WOW! I can’t wait to see what happens.
