“Okay, a lot nosy. Impetuous. Bossy. Unfiltered.”

If you’re thinking about going to your class reunion, pick up this book and find out why you should stay home! It seems the class of ‘99 in Harriston was as dysfunctional as my graduating class and the reunion was the perfect time to wipe the slate clean. And I can’t blame them! Alex can’t seem to keep her nose out of things, even when she’s assured her sister isn’t seriously a suspect...and makes some questionable decisions along the way to solving the crime that has me seriously wondering if she’s never picked up a cozy mystery in her life? While slow in places, the story kept me puzzled to the end and was a solid follow up to A Christmas Candy Killing.
“But I never wanted to see a mitten again, murderous or otherwise.”

Settle in for visits with old friends and new in this three novella Christmas set compilation from some of my favorite cozy mystery authors. Hayley Powell is back on the case when a knitter gets done in by one of her own needles right in the middle of the Bar Harbor Christmas Bazaar. When someone Mia loves comes into contact with an ancient curse attached to a Christmas mitten she won’t rest until she finds a way to save her. And finally CeCe Barton’s origin story sees her hunting down a murderer to keep her twin out of jail. This is a must read!
“Oh, you can never have enough Toberlerone.”
“Why does he own so much duct tape?”

An absolutely delightful Christmas themed romp if you’re in need of a good laugh! With multiple agencies attempting to take down a mob family, what can go wrong? Especially when one of the agent’s families is marrying the heir apparent on Christmas Eve in HER home? Everything, of course! the characters are hilarious, the HEA sweet and there’s a sweet pup! Perfect holiday reading in my opinion. Bravo.
“Stop wondering about the road not taken.”
“Your likes and dislikes are tough to keep track of given your multiple personalities.”
“My friends and I plead the fifth.”

A lovely mystery with a primer in female sleuths sprinkled throughout as Helen, the heroine of our story takes her inspiration from the fictional female detectives that have lived in her imagination since childhood. While slow at times it’s well worth sticking with it to the finale.
A fun introduction to a twenty something Agatha and how she got her start. A bit more noir-ish than cozy but highly enjoyable any way you look at it!
“So that’s the sad story of Judith and Phillippos. Not exactly Pyramus and Thisbe. More tea?”

“On the left of the trip was the perfect housewife with her flicky hair, jegging, and gilet; on the right, a solidly built oak of a woman who walked and dressed as if she were about to set sail with Long John Silver; and in between them, the eccentric aristo who wasn’t much taller than she was wide and who was wearing, as ever, her dark-gray cape. A more motley trio it was hard to imagine, but Tanika couldn’t help but smile...”

Take four unique women tasked with solving a serial murder spree, throw in laughs galore and a huge Doberman and you’ve got a frolicking good time and an amazing read!
“No one who knew Agatha Raisin would ever accuse her of losing her patience. Everyone knew she had none to lose.”

“Rash moves are practically your modus operandi.”

I’ll be completely honest here. This is the first Agatha Raisin book I’ve read because it seemed to be a daunting task, taking on a series with so many books already in print! So I don’t know what the series was like before RW Green took over for the late MC Beaton but I absolutely enjoyed every moment of this iteration of it and it definitely won’t be my last!

“We’ll see just how good a man I really am.”

Things get really complicated for Chief Deputy Adam Reed on the job when a murder occurs in Boone County while his boss (and sister) leaves him in charge of the office and the dead guy turns out to be the slime ball the girl of his dreams had married while he was away at college. Knowing Rachel was definitely not the killer despite publicly threatening to off her deadbeat ex, Adam struggles with boundaries even as if becomes apparent that Rachel is now the target. Riding along with another Reed sibling as they face love, murder and their own siblings is always a sure fire good read and this one did not disappoint! Now what’s up with Nate and Sara...hmmm?
“Painters and poets have liberty to lie.”

Seven books in and we finally get Hamlet’s backstory and it’s a doozy! An unforgettable must read for any Paige Shelton fans. Iontach!

“I’ve never run willy-nilly in my entire life.”

A sweet HEA in the K9s on Patrol series with just the right amount of danger thrown considering two of the main characters are children. Well done!
“I love it when you get into girl fights.”

It’s always a good day when you get to visit Coffee, Books and More in South Cove and this one didn’t disappoint. I’ve been a big fan of this series from the beginning and love how the characters have evolved through the fifteen books so far. You can’t go wrong when you pick up any Tourist Trap mystery!

“You,” he said through gritted teeth, “are freaking impossible sometimes.”

Determined to release Mazzy from the bottle she’d been genied into when no one else seems interested in saving the other witch and catching the murderer of a local woman that comes to her for help unleashes more than Violet could have ever expected and it’s a journey you don’t want to miss!
