‘All this and dark intrigue as well.’
Agatha’s got her hands full with not one but three cases in her latest outing not to mention her relationship is on the rocks and Charles is upping his game hoping to finally ensnare her. When her neighbor is murdered, then her and Toni are almost abducted, she has to determine if the cases both revolve around an antique clock she purchased at an auction or if it was just a strange coincidence. Mix in a live dead guy and an almost four hundred year old case and you’ve got a humdinger of a book from start to finish. Amazing as always!

“I thought your being here had something to do with Divine Providence.”
Having everything you ever dreamed up isn’t all you thought it would be or so Agatha Raisin finds out almost immediately after she closes up her very successful pr business in London and retired to the country. Boredom immediately sets in and while trying to ingratiate herself with the locals a murder occurs which puts her in the limelight in the worst possible way. And so Agatha embarks on a new course...and a new life.

A fun introduction to a twenty something Agatha and how she got her start. A bit more noir-ish than cozy but highly enjoyable any way you look at it!
“No one who knew Agatha Raisin would ever accuse her of losing her patience. Everyone knew she had none to lose.”

I’ll be completely honest here. This is the first Agatha Raisin book I’ve read because it seemed to be a daunting task, taking on a series with so many books already in print! So I don’t know what the series was like before RW Green took over for the late MC Beaton but I absolutely enjoyed every moment of this iteration of it and it definitely won’t be my last!
