Ripped from the headlines. Riveting. Heartbreaking. Every parents’ nightmare. An emotional rollercoaster for anyone who has or plans on having children.
“Hey, you rescued yourself.”
And it’s a good thing because I really wanted to strangle CeCe through half of this book for being a stereotypical dumb girl in a horror movie that answered the phone or went into the empty house or basement....when you know very well the bad guy is waiting. While that made it tough to get through the pay off in the end was worth the effort it took to keep picking the book back up.

“And, with a cackle, she vanished.”
Expect the unexpected in this Trash and Treasures mystery as Vivian faces off with her Moriarty! While I loved the story I missed the trademark banter/bickering between Brandy and Vivian this time around.

“Ohio is doing weird things to me.”
I struggled with this one...probably because it brought back so many memories of growing up in a small town in Ohio where everyone knew everyone else’s business and...there was that one someone that drove me completely insane, then became my other half...only to disappear on me in the course of three years. Could I picture our reunion going as outlandishly as Collin’s and Nate’s? Absolutely! Add me to the list of fans of this author!

“I’ve never slept with another man’s dog.”
Okay, we’re back to Evanovich at her best and it’s a true pleasure! Plenty of slap stick comedy, action and Bob. Stephanie, Lulu and our regular friends, minus Morelli who’s away on assignment, with a array of new zany characters make sure there is never a dull moment in Trenton this time around. And that cliffhanger? I’m already counting down the days to see how that one plays out!

“Your grandma is almost as evil as my grandma.”
Evanovich at her finest! Stephanie and the ‘burg crew brought it in this installment of the series. Hilarious, face paced and so much Bella! The only thing that might top this is a Grandma Mazur and Bella on a case together.

“You never know what tomorrow will bring.”
With her world turned upside down, again, Leila finds herself home and the new owner of the family maple syrup farm after her father’s brutal murder. Faced with a job she really didn’t want, a mother she’d never gotten along with, a desperate brother and a questionable employee or two, Leila is determined to figure out who killed her father and why. This was well thought out, with a cast of memorable characters that have me excited to see what’s up next!

“It was a mousetrap.”
Outing number nine for Val and the Codger Cook has a sound mystery and thrilling conclusion but it simply felt a bit long and repetitive when as our sleuths seem to endlessly go over the same theories without any evidence to support them for a good portion of a book. I wanted to love it, I really did yet I’ll be tuning in for the next installment because it looks like change is on the horizon for Val and her grandfather.

“A watertight alibi if I ever heard one.”
The Codger Cook and his granddaughter are at it again, only this time they take their sleuthing on the road. When their killer weekend at a mystery fest comes with an actual dead body they can’t help but investigate. With a new setting Val wasn’t the only one feeling slightly discombobulated. A story fill with twists and turns that left me feeling like that special ingredient usually found in one of the Five Ingredient Mysteries was missing.

“I thought your being here had something to do with Divine Providence.”

“That was the way of the cowboy matchmakers.”
“Or rather all is fair in love and cookies.”

When Vivian falls into a fake relationship with a Sloan cowboy her heart betrays her and wants it to be real. Will she get what she wants most for Christmas or what she needs? Another wonderful installment in the Three Springs, Texas series.
