The Fresno homesteaders broke their backs turning the California range into a Garden of Eden. Now the money-grabbing snakes at Southern Pacific Railroad want to evict them—unless the settlers pay them off in cash. They aim to fight, not pay, especially Mike Brandon, who talks blunt and backs up his words with the sharp edge of a knife. He kidnaps himself a pretty little hostage named Jessica Starbuck and sets ransom: the land or her life! Dodging fists and bullets, Ki heads for Brandon's hideout, aiming to set Jessie free.
