Synopsis
Sheridan Hendley relocated to Cold Creek after a painful divorce, moving into a faculty position at the private four-year college. Her life consisted of teaching, walking with her dog, and hanging out with her friend and colleague, Kim. That all changed with a dead colleague and a handsome detective, Brett McMann. Assigned to help the detective, always curious, and Kim a possible suspect, Sheridan turns sleuth, asking questions and quickly determining many with a motive for murder.
With a taste for sleuthing and a body found in the arboretum, several ask Sheridan to help the groundskeeper. The local police arrested him, a convenient scapegoat, and the person who found the body. More sleuthing and Brett decides it may be time for some self-defense classes.
Sheridan continues to sleuth, once again to prove someone she knows is innocent. When Zoe is arrested for her ex-husband's murder, the family closes ranks and it takes ingenuity to ferret out the family secrets, the motive, and the killer.
The holidays approaching, Sheridan's attention should be on Brett coming with her for Thanksgiving. When the director of the local community theater is found dead on the stage, Sheridan is cast as amateur sleuth. The arrest of Cold Creek College student for murder provides a distraction and danger. Everyone loves Dicken's Christmas classic and the show must go on.
As the relationship between Sheridan and Brett grows over time and the natural progression is a wedding. Only the wedding planner's checklist didn't include solving a murder.
Each book is a stand-alone mystery. Because the relationships between characters grow and change over time, with key characters recurring in each mystery, it's best to start at the beginning.
Follow Sheridan Hendley, professor turned amateur sleuth, in this boxed set including Murder at Cold Creek, Murder in the Arboretum, Murder at the Grill, Murder in the Theater, and Murder and Wedding.
