My American Duchess
Eloisa James
This author is an auto buy. With this story she has single-handedly made the simple pineapple a thing of beauty.

This is a wonderful group of novellas, all including a Duke. Joanna Shupe's "Christmas in Central Park" hero is not a Duke of the peerage, but his name is Duke - another nice twist. They also all have shortbread woven into the stories, that I found a really nice touch. I found it very enjoyable to read a group of stories, all different, but with common ideas included in all.
Her Enemy at the Altar

Wonderful read - couldn't put it down.
That Despicable Rogue

Why can't I give more than 5 stars? Because I would if I could. Max Aldersley, Earl of Rivenhall, a man with more scars on the inside than his terribly scarred skin from a fire, is my new favourite hero. Ephemia (Effie) Nithercott has always known she is odd, and has literally hidden herself in a hole in the earth. Thank goodness she is persistent and continues her endeavours, and Max can't hide his gentlemanly manners forever. Ingenious writing by Ms Heath for this story to end in a HEA. Can't recommend enough. Read this book!

Another great book in the Lovers and Legends series by Ms Locke. Cressida Howe, known as the Archer, has been raised by her evil father as a weapon. She has always done his bidding except for one target, Eldric of Hawskmoor, a warrior knight. Eldric captivated Cressida, and once they really meet, she captivates him. They have so much going against them, that you will worry that perhaps this is not a HEA. A real page-turner. I would have given this 5 stars, but I found the ending too abrupt. Hopefully there will be more to this series.

Hello everyone! Lisa here. I'm an avid reader of historical romance, in fact it's the only thing I read. I was a beta tester for this site, and now a curator. I'm working on reaching out to more historical romance writers to join us here. If you have favourite authors you would like added, just let me know. Happy reading!
