Blowin’ Up A Murder is the 8th book in the Kenni Lowry Mystery series by Tonya Kappes.

There is a big wedding taking place in Cottonwood, Kentucky with a major magazine covering which would be great publicity for businesses involved in the wedding and reception. All is going well until a waiter is murdered and Kenni has to stop the reception.

I feel for Kenni. Her mother is overbearing, the town is so quick to turn on her, and there are no secrets. It was a mystery with a lot of twists that kept it interesting. I’ve enjoyed seeing Kenni and Finn’s relationship progress. This is a fun, feel good series and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

The Vanishing Type is the fifth book in the Secret, Book & Scone Society series by Ellery Adams.

It’s January in Miracle Springs, North Carolina and Deputy Andrews asks Nora Pennington to help him plan his wedding proposal. While excited for her friend, there are mutilated books in her shop and a series of books mysteriously showing up around town that has her on edge.

This is a wonderful series. I love that the women are older and all have had difficulties they overcame. This book can be read as a stand-alone, but if you read the series from the beginning, you get to see the friendships develop. This certainly had a surprise ending. I like how it all wrapped up and look forward to seeing the repercussion from some of the decisions the women made.

Adventure, Abductions, & Arrest is the 25th book in the Camper & Criminals Cozy Mystery series by Tonya Kappes.

Hank is hired to investigate a missing person and he invites the Laundry Club Ladies to go undercover with him as Forest Bathing Therapist trainees. What could possibly go wrong?

I love this series! It is great having Hank and Mae on the same side when investigating. I suspected who the murderer was, but didn’t figure out the motive until it was revealed at the end. Dottie is so entertaining. I knew her going to the retreat would be interesting.

Violet Rhinehammer finally is getting her chance to show the world her talent. On the flight for her interview, things go awry when she finds a body in the plane. They make an emergency landing in Holiday Junction and that is where her adventure begins.

I enjoyed Violet in the Camper & Criminals Cozy Mystery series and am excited to have this book focus on her. She is full of confidence and makes lemonade out of lemons. The characters in Holiday Junction are quirky and I look forward to learning more about the Strickland family. It was entertaining following Violet’s investigation of the murder.

Barista Bump-Off is the 11th book in the A Killer Coffee Mystery series by Tonya Kappes.

There is a purse snatcher in Honey Springs and the heat is on the Sheriff and Mayor to deal with the increase in crime. When there is a murder, Roxy can’t help but be pulled in.

It is so entertaining when Aunt Maxi and Loretta interact. There was a lot going on in this book and it was a roller coaster of emotions. Sadness for the crimes, happiness and surprises in Roxy’s life and, of course, a nugget at the end that makes me anxious to read the next book. It was interesting figuring out if the crimes were related. This was another fun installment to this series.

There was a lot going on in this book. I love how Paisley’s family and friends are there when she needs them. Sawyer is growing up, Paisley and Santiago’s relationship is progressing, and her business is doing well. When the body was discovered, I never could have guessed how it would wrap up. I couldn’t put it down!

Hardcover Homicide is book #9 in the St. Marin Cozy Mystery series by ACF Bookens.

Harvey is preparing for an author reading using the expanded area of her store when a person is murdered near the store. When one of their friends is threatened, Harvey and her friends jump in to help.

What I love about these books is that they tackle some difficult topics, but show that there is hope. People can work on making their little corner of the world a better, safer place. This story was pretty intense at times. I liked how it brought some different characters to the forefront.

Doctored Death is book #2 in the Kenzie Kirsch Medical Thriller series by P.D. Workman.

Kenzie Kirsch works at the Medical Examiner’s office. They find some anomalies when examine a patient from a nursing home. She starts asking questions that could put her in danger.

The pace was slow to start with. It seemed like a lot of Kenzie asking her boyfriend, Zachary, if he had eaten, asking if he’d slept, asking how he was feeling. As things were explained as the book progressed, it made sense. I haven’t read the first book in the series or the Zachary Goldman Mysteries series so those might have helped. Once the investigation started, the pace really picked up and I couldn’t put it down. It’s kind of scary because it’s not hard to believe what happened in the book, could happen in the real world.
