One overheard conversation in a bar led to Tilly in a "suite better suited for royalty...with twenty thousand dollars in cash...wondering how I ended up in the wedding of a woman whose last name I don't even know." And Wedding Fixer "Abby Chambers", the bridesmaid babysitter, is born.
It seems that Jenna, the bride, is being sabotaged by her hateful step-sister, Olivia. Jenna loves her sister, Melinda (Lindy), and Olivia stole Lindy's fiancee, Jacob. At the last minute, Olivia springs her
plus one as Jacob. Jenna needs someone to run interference at the wedding and associated activities. They decided on the pseudonym to protect Tilly's presence there and the blog's anonymity. "They say behind every good wedding is a bridesmaid who gets shit done."
Lochlan Blaine, lifelong friend of the groom and hater of all things matrimonial, attends the wedding on sufferance where he spies Tilly. Hearing one of her threats and watching her wrangle Olivia peaks more than his interest. Dubbing her his "Pepper", he stays for the reception and the two engage in a one-night stand never expecting to see each other again. But between referrals to manage more bridal baddies and Lochlan's business interests, they do see each other again and the heat and humor continue.
I've never had so much fun laughing about weddings. The British influence in his life gave rise to crazy "Lochlanisms" - I choked on my coffee at the "Floating Bed of Doom". And Tilly's sisters suggested the most hilarious name for her "new business". This first Avery Maxwell book I read had me sprinting to read all of her books. I discovered her through a book recommendation and read her in Kindle Unlimited, one of my favorite ways of reading new authors. I quickly bought my own copy and am collecting all of them. Real characters, real-life problems, laughter and tears all attest to an author talented in immersing readers and emotionally involving them in her books. Dive in readers and enjoy the experience.

One night of unforgettable s3x and fun is all it took to put a crack in Lochlan's armor. He's closed off, protective of those he loves, and a dirty talker.
Tilly is resilient, full of love and the friend that every woman wants to have by their side. She's been through so much in her life that she will not give up the fairy tale she's had since she was 10.
Avery is always a one-click author to me. Do yourself a favor and grab this book today.

Without a Hitch is Avery Maxwell’s ninth book and her first step outside the Westbrook world she mastered in her first eight novels.
As with her series, in Without a Hitch, she continues themes of chosen family and personal healing, and while all of Avery’s books embrace worthiness and recognizing your worthiness as core themes, none does it quite the way Tilly and Lochlan’s story does. Both dynamic lead characters, from opposite sides of the tracks, are deeply wounded and doubting of their worth, yet each is uniquely suited to shine a bright light on ...

As with her series, in Without a Hitch, she continues themes of chosen family and personal healing, and while all of Avery’s books embrace worthiness and recognizing your worthiness as core themes, none does it quite the way Tilly and Lochlan’s story does. Both dynamic lead characters, from opposite sides of the tracks, are deeply wounded and doubting of their worth, yet each is uniquely suited to shine a bright light on the other’s worthiness and, in doing so, discovers their own.
Without A Hitch is a true standalone, which will enchant readers new to Maxwell’s work, with just enough cameo appearances from old favorites to appease Westbrook fans waiting for the next installment of that series. WoAH has a relaxed rom/com feel and all the raw emotion, and steam fans have come to expect from an Avery Maxwell book.
If you like books by the likes of Pippa Grant and Lucy Score, then you should give Without A Hitch a chance.

I loved Tilly and Loch! All of Avery Maxwell's books have blown me away and she definitely did it again with this one. Tilly is a fixer who always feels like she fades away in the background but Lochlan proves throughout their meetings that he sees her. There are always several laugh out loud moments in Avery's books and the Target trip and hammock scenes are a couple of my favorites this time around. Another fabulous book from an amazing author.

You will laugh out loud, get mad at the characters, and feel a few tears roll down your cheeks reading this story.
Sweet but sassy meets jaded but passionate. Tilly and Lochlan collide in an explosion of chemistry that brings them together time and time again. Neither of them is willing to reveal their real names until faith intervenes. There is a strong connection between them, yet Lochlan is not ready to put aside his assumptions or to believe in fairy tales as Tilly does. Will...

Will they or won't they? Who will give in first? Will they find their HEA? You should read this story and find out. You will not be disappointed.
It can be read as a stand-alone; however, reading the Broken Hearts and Westbrook Series will give you a better understanding of the characters.
My review is based on the ARC I received.
