Mocha and Murder is the second book in the Killer Coffee series by Tonya Kappes, and I enjoyed it every bit as much as the first book in the series. I have to say this series is perfect for fans of cozy mysteries in my opinion. I adore Roxy Bloom, the owner of The Bean Hive Coffee Shop in Honey Springs, KY.

Roxy once again finds herself investigating a murder after she finds her friend Louise holding the murder weapon over her apple supplier Fred's dead body. Roxy absolutely knows her friend is innocent, so she sets out the find the real killer. I loved that we got to meet mo...

Roxy once again finds herself investigating a murder after she finds her friend Louise holding the murder weapon over her apple supplier Fred's dead body. Roxy absolutely knows her friend is innocent, so she sets out the find the real killer. I loved that we got to meet more characters from Honey Springs in Mocha and Murder, along with Rozy's mom, who she isn't really that close to. I got why Roxy was hesitant to believe her mom would be around based on the past, but was so glad she was willing to listen and hopefully have a better relationship with her mom going forward. I also enjoyed the time Roxy spent with her new fiancé Patrick. I kinda felt like they moved really fast getting back together and then instantly engaged in the first book, so I loved she wanted to date some more and learn more about each other before setting a wedding date.

I kept guessing about the murderer for some time in Mocha and Murder. I love when the author keeps me guessing in any mystery, but especially a cozy mystery. Tonya Kappes once again delivered a solid mystery filled with laugh out loud moments, and the small-town charm I've come to expect from her stories.

Madeline Mrozek did a fantastic job with the audiobook narration in Mocha and Murder. She was able to distinguish between all the various characters and stay consistent with the voices from the first book in the series.

Our main character Roxy is a very busy lady but she will always find time to help out those she cares about--human or animal. I love all the characters with their quirky southern personalities but other than the animals, Roxy is my favorite character. I love her passion for her family, love for animals, and desire to solve mysteries. In the first book we see Roxy’s new relationship with Patrick start to move pretty quickly. In Mocha and Murder, Roxy wants to slow things down and really get reacquainted with one another. I am so glad author Tonya Kappes decided slow things down...

In Mocha and Murder, Roxy wants to slow things down and really get reacquainted with one another. I am so glad author Tonya Kappes decided slow things down, by doing this she makes Roxy more realistic and level headed. She is smart and is not going to be controlled only by her heart. She will also listen to her brain and make decisions that are going to better for her in the long run.

Roxy and Pepper are back at it again! I loved #2 in the series as much as #1. Coffee, a fancy chicken and murder are on the menu for #2. I loved the development of the series in this book. We are learning more about Roxy, her mom and Patrick. Great read that will keep you guessing until the end!
