Synopsis

Can these opposites turn up the heat . . . without burning down the house?

House-flipping sensation Maggie Nichols can't wait to dig into her next challenge: a crumbling Victorian mansion in a tiny American town. With only four months to do it, Maggie has her to-do lists, her blueprints and her team. What she doesn't have is time for sexy, laid-back landscaper Silas Wright.

The man takes flirtation to a whole new level. And he does it shirtless . . . He's impressively persistent. But Maggie's not interested in putting down roots. A short-term fling on the other hand could fit nicely into her calendar.

As their summer gets downright steamy, Silas manages to demolish the emotional walls Maggie's spent years building, sending her into a panic. He's the wrench in her carefully constructed plans. With the end of the project looming, Maggie has a decision to make. But how can she stay when her entire career is built on moving on?

Maybe the mansion isn't the only thing due a revamp: her heart has been long neglected.

This book will forever have a place in my heart.

It is light and fluffy at times, SUPER steamy at times, and downright sinful at others.

Silas grabbed my heart from day one. He and that dog just moved into my heart and refused to leave ❤️

I loved how he helped Maggie see another life without pushing her too hard. She was a dream to watch blossom as the house did.

I loved how the epilogue also wrapped up the rest of the family also ❤️❤️

Emma Wilder could not have been more perfect for this role. Her voice is EXACTLY how Maggie’s was described in the beginning. I don’t...

Emma Wilder could not have been more perfect for this role. Her voice is EXACTLY how Maggie’s was described in the beginning. I don’t know if that was planned or was serendipity but it works!

Her performance for this was simply amazing as she had to play both sides being a solo narrator but it JUST WORKED! I love her and she is so talented!

Small-town Real Feels-Instant attraction meets reno resistance.

Maggie, the social media rehab deva, isn’t afraid to take a sledgehammer to a wall if it serves her renovation vision. But when she meets the #HotLandscaperGuy determined to take a sledgehammer to the walls she’s built around her heart, things get steamy.

Silas isn’t your ordinary hero. Sure, he is hot and built and packing everything he needs to rock Maggie’s world, including a wonderful, albeit, messy dog, but he is also natural at almost everything he has ever done, and his all-in, jump with both feet, approach works for him, and he can’t see why it doesn’t work for everyone. He comes from a blended family that is incredibly supportive thanks to two dynamic moms who keep it real and two very aware dads who keep things grounded, and siblings who keep things funny. In Maggie, he sees his future and jumps in with both feet.

Maggie is a planner, who makes decisions after research, and analysis of the options, certainly not based on feelings and signs. Her rocky history has led her to believe she has to hustle for her worthiness, and she hustles so hard there is no time for anything else, and hustling keeps her heart safe, if she doesn’t have time for a relationship, she doesn’t have to deal with not being worthy of one either.

In Maggie Moves On, Lucy Score has hit the hot button for many who want to rage against toxic masculinity, but she has also touched the soul of women who feel for many reasons, that they have to work themselves into the ground, to prove themselves worthy of love, of success, of the dreams they are too busy to dream. Women who need someone to brazenly tear down their walls and love them fully, and all in. This ability to see into the realness of humanity and put it on the page in a way that makes you love it and hate it and feel it, is Lucy Score’s trademark.

Maggie Move On is everything I expect from a Lucy Score book, it’s well written, funny, poignant, surprising, and steamy, with strong themes of chosen family and acceptance. I loved it and highly recommend it to anyone who isn’t looking to be butt hurt by a romance novel.

Lucy Score just has a style of writing that I just love. ❤️

I would like to praise Lucy Score who just keeps getting better and better at writing stories that captures your heart. ❤

This time we find ourselves in the town of Kinship.

Our heroine is a real live YouTube videographer, Maggie Nicole's, who purchases homes, renovates them and then flips them. She does a lot of the work herself and films it from start to finish.
This time it's a home from her childhood memory from when she visited this town with her mother at the age of twelve.

This time it's a home from her childhood memory from when she visited this town with her mother at the age of twelve.

Our hero is Silas Wright, aka hot landscaper guy, and from the moment he meets Maggie, he knows he wants to marry her and he's not shy about letting everyone know.

Maggie doesn't do relationships and she likes keeping on the move and thanks to her childhood baggage she would like to keep it that way.
Silas has his work cut out for him if he's going to win her over.

The characters are well developed and scenes well thought out.

Adding in the fact that people keep moving into the house with her, including a massive pitbull and two kittens, several humans and the mystery of a hidden treasure, means you're in store for a story with a lot of laughs, gasps and a truly wonderful happy ever after for everyone. 🥰

While I’m usually all about the hero, there is no denying that Maggie was just too much the type of person I’d call a good friend to not love everything about her. She really knew how to respond to Silas’ flirtatious banter in a way that had me grinning from ear to ear. With a unique career and a strong work ethic, I was totally entranced with her story from the very beginning. I immediately needed to know how everything was going to play out for her.

Silas was amazing! He was stinkin’ cute with his quips and forthright attitude regarding what he wanted from Maggie. What might have been just lighthearted flirting, caught on fast, and he was soon sincerely wooing the woman of his dreams. He was straight up swoony with his actions to win her over.

I absolutely loved this fun, lighthearted read with a storyline that pulled me in and characters that attached themselves to my heart. Silas’ family were hilarious adding to the quick, witty banter that fills this story. So too do a few other characters that added dimension to the story along with some moments that warmed my heart. This was a longer read but had a fast pace. The angst was low and while the chemistry between Maggie and Silas sizzles when given the leeway, it does not consume the storyline.

Overall, I loved this cute, fun story and despite the perfect epilogue, I hope we get to see some of them and possibly the town, in the future.

In Maggie and Silas’ story, we have a Youtube star slowly reaching her one-millionth follower and the extremely swoony and talented landscape designer who found his future wife with just one look. These two could not be any more different. Maggie has lived a rootless existence for almost a decade, once a project is done, she moves on. She claims to be family-less except for her partner and has thick walls surrounding her heart. Silas on the other hand is deeply rooted in his community, has a tight-knit family, albeit complicated, and intends to smash through those walls.

As the weeks go by, Silas along with his naughty pitbull rescue, Kevin, and the rest of the community of Kinship, Idaho shows Maggie the fantastic feeling of finally belonging somewhere and possibly wanting to finally settle down somewhere. The chemistry between these two was amazing, the banter was hilarious and the secondary characters brought so much to the story.

Not only does Lucy Score write the best rom-com, they are also very girthy, so there is a lot more to their story. Just be prepared to smile, swoon, and have a great time.
