BingeBooks Blog
This October we're delighted to welcome cozy mystery author P.D. Workman to our BingeBooks Book Club chat with the author.
And before we go live on October 24 we asked her to tell us a little about herself.
BingeBooks: Where and when do you like to write?
P.D. Workman: I generally write three times a day, with a morning session, afternoon session, and evening session. I have written a lot of different places and will write wherever I have to! I like my standing desk, which I have been using five years or more, but this year I have tendonitis in my feet from a drug side effect, so the last few months I have been doing a good amount of work from the bed. Which is difficult if I am tired and start nodding off!
BB: Is there anything you always like to have around you when you write?
PDW: I …

BB: Is there anything - furnishings, art, equipment, etc - you always like to have around you when you write?

"I'm a daydreamer with a big imagination"
BingeBooks: Where and when do you like to write?
Samantha Young: I write in my office and I write in the early mornings and early afternoons. My brain is usually too tired by evening time to string sentences together, lol.
BB: Is there anything - furnishings, art, equipment, etc - you always like to have around you when you write?

Rainy weather, a comfy chair and Cuban coffee - A.R. Torre details the essential ingredients for writing characters that readers "love to hate"
Ahead of our live Book Club chat with A. R. Torre on Tuesday January 24, 2023 (watch again at our Book Club page) we asked Alessandra to tell us a bit more about herself and her writing ...
BingeBooks: Where and when do you like to write?
A. R. Torre: My favorite place to write is in our backyard. I’m pretty sure the environment isn’t the best for writing - the #1 rule of word production is No Distractions! - but we have lots of palm trees that sway in the breeze and provide a soothing soundtrack. I have a comfy chair that is in our cabana and I like to prop my feet up on a beanbag and write there, especially when the weather is nice and…
"Three weddings and a food truck on the beach"
Ahead of our live Book Club chat with Jan Moran we asked Jan to tell us a bit more about herself and her writing ...
BingeBooks: Where and when do you like to write?
Jan Moran: Mostly afternoons and evening—and almost anywhere with my laptop. Variety keeps me fresh and inspires me, so you might find me in my garden, at the kitchen table, at a coffee shop, or in a library. My faves: Writing near the beach on in the mountains, on airplanes, and in beautiful hotel lobbies. My office is for business, not so much for creativity.
BB: Is there anything - furnishings, art, equipment, etc - you always like to have around you when you write?
JM: Interesting views and background music such as jazz, classical, or brain.fm. Or surrounded by the so…
Before their live chat for BingeBooks Book Club, on Historical Mystery Day, Thursday September 29, we asked Sara Rosett and Lee Strauss to answer some favorite author questions.
BB: Where and when do you like to write?
SR: I use dictation to get a first draft down in the morning. Once it’s transcribed I like to edit the draft in my office, which has bookshelves full of my favorite novels and all my reference books.
LS: Usually afternoons in my sunroom. I take care of business matters in the mornings. I also like to play pickleball three mornings a week, so it's nice to have a flexible schedule.
BB: Is there anything - furnishings, art, equipment, etc - you always like to have around you when you write?
SR: I like to have my divided keyboard, which keeps my wrists in alignment s…
