This was absolutely delightful! And I have never used that word to describe a book I’ve read but it’s the only one that fits. I loved everything about this story.

Daniel was a bit of a bounder and his initial reactions to an accusation against the heroine had me fuming along with Georgianna. So yeah, bring on the revenge!!! And that’s when a side I never expected to see began to emerge and Daniel was the sweetest thing. I adored his relationship with Georgianna’s siblings. I also liked his willingness to jump in where needed. I don’t believe this side of him would have been apparent without the storyline as it was.

Georgianna was a strong, independent heroine. But then again, she really didn’t have a choice. However, her dedication to her profession as well as taking care of her family had me cheering her on.

Together, this couple were just too much fun. I loved every moment of this story and it ended way too soon. This was a fast paced read that never bogged down and was relatively low angst throughout. The drama is low, the laughs abundant and the steam sizzling.

I never saw it happening this way!!! Yes, there were all those wonderful, twisty incidents and decisions that led our hero and heroine to become who they are, but once they met this story veers far away from the expected. This doesn’t rely on all the tricks that tropes of mistaken identity have fallen on through the years. Instead, this is fresh and original.

My heart hurt for Jules, although I suspect her character was not created to cause the ache I felt on her behalf. I couldn’t help but feel she had been forced to live life in a manner that went against how she was born. Yet, she was fiercely independent and loved the freedom her charade provided her.

James captured my attention immediately! I wanted to know more about living in the wild with wolves. I mean, I totally understood that it was that way of life that made him into the man he was, quiet, finding food distasteful and people annoying. However, once he interacted with Jules, he found peace and I loved how he was able to sense her secret.

Jules and James are fire together! From the beginning there is an attraction that they can’t deny and they act on it pretty quickly. What a steamy lesson for Jules who has lived her life as a man! I did have to sustain belief a bit through the story and the reason for that also hindered the authenticity of the time period. Nevertheless, this was a multi-layered story that kept me enthralled from the beginning.

When I'm looking for a historical romance to satisfy my needs, this author always comes through for me. A Matter of Temptation checked all my boxes while adding a few new ones.

Mina and Simon were wonderful! I loved their sharp, quick banter and the easy way their relationship developed without feeling contrived. The chemistry flowed between them and I fell in love with them both from the very beginning.

This was a fast paced read that kept me engaged from the first page. Most of the story is relatively low angst but there is a point when the drama escalates and I couldn't imagine how this couple were going to end. I was more than satisfied with the ending, especially with the epilogue that was pure romance.

This was a wickedly fun, hot and angsty read! I absolutely LOVED the beginning of Ophelia’s and Devlin’s story. My heart was instantly captivated and once I hit the time jump, I experienced such a riot of emotions I couldn’t stop reading.

Ophelia was a multi dimensional heroine and I adored everything about her. She was raised with a unique set of circumstances and I was anxious to learn all the ins and outs regarding it. There were definitely times that her actions hurt my heart, but I also understood the reasons behind them.

Devlin was an alpha hero to the core. From the first moment he interacted with Fifi his main objective was protection. That one incident was the foundation for everything he did from that point onward and holy heck, that’s the stuff of true romance!

This book ran me through a gamut of emotion. From laughter, danger, high angst and finally an ending that satisfied my soul. I feel like I’ve been tumbled upside down, right-side up and inside out and I’d gladly go through it all again for such a beautifully written story of love.

Wow! This was a wonderful read!!!

Maryann had me cheering for her within a few pages. For the era, she’s fighting for the chance to be free. Interestingly, she doesn’t desire a career as many historical romance heroines in recent years seem to do. All she wants is a large family within a marital relationship filled with love and that will allow her to be a partner, rather than an object of ownership. She was quite feisty and I loved how she enthralled Nicolas from the beginning due to her quirky ways.

Nicolas was one of the most alpha heroes I’ve read in awhile, and that’s comparing him to contemporary romances as well. Put him in a mafia romance and holy heck, he’d set the standard for a new type of hero. He had a steadfastness to him that had me lingering on every action he took and words he spoke in regards to Maryann. As the relationship between them grew his protectiveness of her grew exponentially. Nicolas had me swooning, and I don’t swoon easily.

While this has a great rhythm and pace to the story, the relationship slowly evolves giving these characters a chance to truly get to know one another and thereby fall in love in a believable manner. The initial steam is light but it continues to grow as the story develops. When the slow burn finally comes to its ultimate conclusion, the ending result was an inferno of passion.

This has several plot lines running through it with plenty of drama and a bit of angst. I was engaged from the first page as this author pulled me into the story and had me experiencing the highs and lows with Maryann and Nicolas. I laughed, gasped, cursed, and cried throughout the book before I closed it with a huge smile, delighted in an epilogue that gave me everything I needed.
