Fires have shaped Prentice's life: a childhood tragedy, several devastating wildfires close to home, and structure blazes he's battled with the fire department. His goal is to minimize wildfire devastation in Garnet… and earn his dad’s grudging approval.
Out of the blue, he meets Jessie, a smart young lady with a beautiful smile and secrets of her own. She sees the unresolved family conflict smoldering in him and offers a fresh view of how to live his life.
When wildfire hits his hometown, many residents are unprepared. Will he try to save the world by himself, or will he ask for help as the flying embers rain down on him?
