Synopsis

THE BIO OF RUSSELL LLOYD

My birth took place in the Mount Holly, New Jersey hospital. After my parents moved a few miles away to Moorestown, NJ, I attended the number 5 school in Lenola, a division of Moorestown. My 4th- grade teacher wrote the following on the back of my report card: I HAVE NEVER MET A STUDENT THAT SAYS SO MUCH WITH SO FEW WORDS. I am now trying to deserve that compliment with my writing.
In 2005, Money Magazine called Moorestown the best place to live in the entire United States! Reading this, my good friend, Buddy Rhodes, told me, “I never want to hear you say I am from Moorestown. You are a Lenola boy, and don't you ever forget that.”
After graduating from Moorestown High School, I attended Camden County Community College part-time for a few years while also working. Fortunately, I met my wife, Linda, sitting in the front seat of a car that my friend Larry flagged down in the parking lot of a local Diner, Olgas. We saw a concert featuring Smokey Robinson & The Miracles on our first date. My second date was with the girl in the back seat. Realizing I had made a big mistake, I asked Linda out again. To this day, I am glad she agreed. I was hitting way above my weight with her.
Once we married, I worked for whoever would have me. Somehow, I am not sure why I became a Fluid Power salesman. A successful one at that. Fluid Power is another term for Hydraulics and can be described simply as “the joys of oil under pressure.”
After throwing my pot stash away for good, I worked my way up to management and then to leading my own distributorship. Luckily, lightning had struck.
Lynn and I now live in a lake cabin, and we wake up to a scene of tranquility every morning. Our puppy, Kasper, sleeps with us. Kasper wakes me up at least three times a night, licking my ears. I think she is making sure I am still alive.
After arranging the sale of the Fluid Power distributorship, I retired for good, or so I thought. I got the bug again and formed another company until I realized I only wanted to write! That is where I am now...... Just writing.
