Randall Ballistic JR, better known as BJ to the second-generation crew, brought out all the feels in his true fashion–yeap, my new book boyfriend’s mindset merited my total attention. Also, having already ogled the gorgeous cover got me wanting to jump into the book and give him a good smooching. No, seriously! His exuberance is so contagious, and his humour so uplifting that my cheeks hurt from smiling. Mind you–his serious side, which Winter Marks doesn’t see since they don’t get off on the right footing, is the beginning of a heartwarming journey I had no wish to end.

Not only did I fall for Winter at the drop of a hat, but I’m still crushing on her! Although she runs her life with the precision of a Swiss watch, it’s not difficult to see that she’s struggling. Her vulnerability and insecurities allowed me to connect with her on a level I could never have imagined, thus fostering my empathy and understanding of a situation no young person with much to offer should ever be in.

Observing Winter and BJ together was an absolute joy. Her sassiness, his flirtatiousness and being all in make for a memorable reading experience. Them having each other’s backs–addressing challenges and overcoming obstacles regardless of the hurt was perfectly imperfect because you can’t help but route for them.
“I got you, Snowflake. You don’t need to do this on your own.”
I loved that BJ was open with his best mates, especially Lovey. Their chit-chats and her advice to him will undoubtedly raise an eyebrow! And as is Hunting, the solid vibes she gives to a united family front shines through. However, a good story needs folk with ulterior motives, heavy on complications and conflicting emotions. Hunting’s thought-provoking writing kept me on my toes, yet she generously gave me breathing space by entwining bedroom therapy–for the wanting of a better word–into BJ and Winter’s story. Their off-the-charts chemistry is fun, sexy, and fan-grabbing to-die-for stuff! Don’t have a fan at hand? Then adjust your AC control to below zero because I had to!

Love me nonstop banter, wisecracks and sharp comebacks, which Hunting is a dab hand at doing. If you’ve checked out my reviews of Little Lies or Bitter Sweet Heart, you'll know I have a soft spot for all the hockey squad and their love interests, but BJ and Winter blow the pages out of the book in the best possible way. I laughed aloud, swooned big time, and cried my eyes out. What more can I say except read it? Bravissimo for such an epic, unforgettable offering, Hunting!
