1.
I’m done with Kalindra. I’m done with Muze and I’m done with Shadows 2. I am done with that franchise. Yeah, I know, famous last words. But, yeah, I’m done. I am especially done with Kalindra. Let’s just say new wives/co-stars who don’t have any real acting experience make for horrible on screen partnerships. Muze couldn’t see it. Or chose not to see it. Everyone else could. I don’t know what kind of spell she has over him but it’s strong.
Let me back up a bit, set the scene. My current scene. I’m back at the spa. I’ve leased the Outdoor Center (99 years!) and had it refurbished. It was, turns out, built on a passive solar design a decade or so back. But someone messed up the calculations. It gets way too hot. Or it did. But now that I had these fancy LCD/change colors when you want them to windows installed it’s all good. Change the color, block out the light. LCD stands for... liquid crystal display. That’s it. Liquid crystal. So, it’s no longer the Outdoor Center. It’s my home away from home. Really, it’s my home. One of my homes. I have the place in Malibu that I rarely go to. I have the townhome in a location that will remain secret (the illuminati paparazzi and all that) and I have the time I spend with Scott at his/our place in Rapid City. More on that later.
It’s been a little over a year since I first set foot in Wayside and encountered those who would become my crew. Elena is still running her restaurant. Hannah is still running her bookstore (and being the silent owner of the spa, shhhh, don’t tell anyone). Sophie, Elena’s daughter, is my personal assistant/upcoming stunt woman/personal trainer/world conqueror in training. Jaxson continues to be his own creature. He’s taken on a full-time job at the spa during the day while at night he fights crime. Not really, but it feels that way. He gives off the solitary, focused, intense loner vibe that it would take for someone real to be a costumed vigilante. Hannah, his aunt/mother, worries about him. She’s the one who I signed the 99 year lease with. I love her. I love how she looks after her nephews, the twins. Jayson, the other twin, has a small, newly built office space attached to the old Outdoor Center/my new home. He heads up making videos and podcasts for me and Josie Steans. Josie and I have developed a creative partnership of sorts over the past year. More on that later, too. And, yes, I do realize I’m using a lot of slashes. Things are never just one thing, after all. People, experiences, events. Never just one thing. Therefore /.
What’s that? You want to know what happened on Shadows 2? Okay. But first, let me tell you about my current show. Then I’ll tell you about Shadows 2.
We hope you are enjoying the book so far. To continue reading...
