Dukes of Distinction makes a wonderful "binge read" experience! Author Alexa Aston has expertly woven the stories together with overlapping events from differing character perspectives. Also, I loved the underlying long-term friendships of the heroes, and that each hero harbored a secret even from the rest of the group that made him consider himself unlovable or unworthy. All five struggle with issues in their pasts, but all find extraordinary women with difficulties of their own. Also, I loved the underlying long-term friendships of the heroes, and that each hero harbored a secret even from the rest of the group that made him consider himself unlovable or unworthy. All five struggle with issues in their pasts, but all find extraordinary women with difficulties of their own. The emotionally rough, sometimes uncertain, and occasionally heated well-paced plots of these books draws the reader forward from one story to the next. Of course, love always heals, but getting there leaves the reader smiling and satisfied. I recommend this series highly, especially for a very lazy vacation or stay-cation so they can be read one right after another!
