I often blame my Irish grandmother for my love of words. We would lay in bed for hours, reading the newspaper. She was also very picky about how one treated books. No writing in them, no dog-earing pages, and no breaking the spine. I have two books published and a third almost ready. The first is set in Europe and it's a family saga called A PRIMROSE IN NOVEMBER. The second is set in Steinbeck's Salinas Valley and titled FLYING BLIND, A CROPDUSTER'S STORY. The one that's almost read is set in Silicon Valley and tentatively titled WHEN ALICE PLAYED THE LOTTERY. Still, I don't know who I write like, but I know what authors I love. Alice Hoffman, Jodi Picoult, Ann Patchett, Anne Tyler, and Matt Haig. If you love books, I love you.
