David Raymond is a Miami native. David spent his career directing and consulting nationally with large governmental and not-for-profit social service systems including foster care, homelessness, and behavioral health programs. David holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Florida International University, a Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Barry University, and completed the Harvard University, John F. Kennedy School of Government Executive Education Program. While David has successfully written over $1 Billion in grant applications, and is just released his third novel. David’s hobbies include reading and watching science fiction and comedy, cycling, playing his guitar, and learning the banjo. David's books are set in South Florida, with locations in Miami, the Everglades, and Miami Beach, popping to life, as though they are characters in the book. His writing style was influenced by Carl Hiaasen, Gene Roddenberry, Robert Heinlein, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and Doug Adams. David lives in Biscayne Park, Florida with his amazing and spiritually evolved wife Amy, a retired early intervention specialist, and their forever goofy, highly intelligent Aussiedoodle, Starry. David and Amy are blessed by their highly intelligent, charming, and not so goofy adult children, Mia, a gifted psychotherapist specializing in eating disorders and trauma, Abraham, a legendary, Miami Beach native fishing guide, Yudith, their daughter-in-law, an insightful Montessori Teacher and devoted Mother, and the newest joy in their life, their highly intelligent and gorgeous grandson, Ryder, whose level of goofiness has yet to be determined.
