“I’ll never let you down. I’ve always got your back.”

I absolutely love this series featuring characters with disabilities that remind us that there is always more to the story than meets the eye and not to underestimate anyone.
“The Real Housewives of Crosbyville, Indiana.”

The debut outing in the Bailey the Bloodhound mystery series lays the groundwork for more entertaining adventures from Pris, Bailey and Gil in the future. Though cozy in nature it leans a little heavier toward romance than is traditional, includes an adorable dog and kid and a loveable diner running aunt.
Lethally Blonde

What do Doris Day, Russian astronauts and throw pillows have in common? Madison Night. In her first full length outing forty seven year old Madison’s life takes an unexpected turn when there appears to a be serial killer murdering Doris Day lookalikes and she could be next! A rollicking good time for sure.

“One case hardly makes me a detective, amateur or not.”

I gave book one in this series five stars. I’d double that if I could for this installment. The author has found her stride in Killer in the Kitchen. The story flows flawlessly, there’s the perfect amount of interaction with her Detection crew, alive and fictional with an engaging plot that kept me up late to find out what was going to happen next. I can’t wait to see what she has up her sleeve for book three.
“What a load of crock.”

A worthy wrap up of the K9s on Patrol six book series. An abandoned baby, dogs, a hardheaded heroine and a hot cop, enough said?
“Just another run-of-the-mill weekend in Jasper, Idaho.”

Leslie Marshman’s installment in the K-9s on Patrol mini series is simply a pleasure to read. The characters are engaging, the storyline engrossing and the pup adorable. My favorite so far!
“The greatest victories come only if one is willing to risk losing everything.”
“I would prefer my murder to be about me.”

A bah humbug of a of a holiday for Catchpool is upon him when his mother entices Poirot to Frelly in the hopes of stopping a dying man from impending death. While the victim and the possible victim were ‘jolly’ men it was sadly lacking in the telling of the story, which was full of Catchpool’s misery and lacking the usual Poirot-ness of the preceding books.
“You and me and the baby. And Bentley.”

A missing radio personality, a escaped murder and out of control wildfires are featured in book four of the K9s on Patrol mini series. Add in a hot cop who also does search and rescues with his buddy Bentley and it’s combustible!

“There were no bars between them, real or imagined.”

I don’t think I’ve ever noticed a Harlequin Intrigue with a disclaimer warning the reader of sensitive, triggering topics before and honestly, it threw me for a minute. Then I dived in and didn’t want to come up for air! This story went way beyond the typical quick read and moved into a intricately plotted out romantic suspense thriller in less than 250 page and I absolutely loved it!
“If it’s too good to be true, there’s a catch.”

After a couple of hundred books read this year I can say without a doubt I’ve found one of my top two reads with Jo Segura’s debut novel. A bit campy, alot sexy, with more than one unexpected twist thrown in....think what if Indiana Jones and Laura Croft had a Latino bouncing baby girl that grew up totally...you get the idea! The only thing that could make this better would be if we could get the further adventures of Corrie and Ford.
“But like the ever changing tides, our lives had ebbed and flowed in different directions.”

With a chance to expand Torte in a new direction falls in Juliet’s lap she’s hesitant, but quickly finds herself falling for the idea even as she’s riddle with doubts about her personal life. When murder happens, as it always does, Juliet’s new venture might just go up in flames, along with her relationship with Carlos!
Bring home the ones you can.

A highly well researched novel...so well done it could have passed for nonfiction at times...that leaves you emotionally spent along with the main characters in the aftermath of highrise collapse in Washington DC right before the jolliest time of the year.
