It’s a forest legend
Another boy goes missing in Discovery Bay shortly after the remains of one are revealed thanks to a forest fire throwing together a disgraced FBI agent and a forest ranger that had lost his best friend to the same monster. Suspenseful, with almost a gothic setting and highly entertaining!

...whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.
Probably my favorite James Patterson novel of all time! It’s got the trademark snappy, short chapters you expect, with hints of Doyle, Poe and Christie woven throughout. Mysteries galore and the big one, exactly who are Brendan Holmes, Margaret Marple and Auguste Poe?

She wasn’t very good at dying.
If a quintessential Nichole Severn action packed adventure is what you’re looking for, you came to the right place. Action packed right from the start with a little more violence than a usual Harlequin Intrigue and less romance but a very good start to the New Mexico Guard Dogs miniseries.

After all, what city girl would want an orchard and an old farmhouse?
A promising start to a new series. Is the premise new? Not exactly when I can name at least two other authors that have set their series in orchards...however the hard cider angle is attention getting and the fact that the heroine is a widow still recovering from the horrific accident that stole her husband from her. I’m curious to see where this one goes.

And beauty is truth. That is all you know in this world.
The one who never fall always fall hardest.
Riley’s fourth law states, even if you’re the best there is, watch your back. Because somebody better is coming. Better watch for them, because they are coming for you. Bored and looking for adventure Riley unknowingly finds himself in the crosshairs of a predator he’d stolen from and it’s a fast paced, enjoyable read.

What do you do when everyone has lied to you?
A well written story that was light on danger and romance but still suspenseful and unputdownable.

Faith, hope, love and luck. And family.
I picked this up with no clue as to what it was about beyond what the cover showed up a the Eiffel Tower and baked goods. And it blew me away with amazing characters, great imagery and an engaging storyline that while at times was predictable, highly satisfying. Rachel Linden just went to the top of my must read author’s list.

Flirt with possible psychopaths. Check.
I was afraid to pick this one up because I had such high hopes for the followup to An American in Scotland and the author did not disappoint! A locked castle mystery in the middle of a Scottish blizzard with a cast full of prime suspects and a wedding. Just what you want to read on a snowy day or any time of the year.

Devils Beach. The rules are different here
My favorite Coffee Lovers book yet! I got a kick out of the hijinks of Lana and her pals as I laughed my way through the book at the most unexpected times. The mystery was engaging and well presented and I love how much the characters have grown over the four books. Well done!

“I am here and I am just as strange as you.”
Frida Kahlo’s quote is fitting for the eccentric beach town of Devil’s Beach and it’s inhabitants and I love it! It’s always a pleasure to take a trip into Lana’s world and this outing was delightful. Death by leaf blower...completely and utterly understandable!

We’re never far from death when used as pawns in other people’s games.
I named my business Secure One so I’d never make that mistake again.”
Book Two in the Secure One series features Marlise and Cal, both riddled with their own scars, visible and hidden. Determined to take down The Miss, The Madame’s second in command who has now branched out into drug running on top of sex trafficking. This follow up is just as intense and riveting as Going Rogue in Red Rye County. Amazing!

The introduction of Hercule Poirot to the world and a magnificent one at that!
