I thought I was shocked and dumbfounded after reading Deathly by Brynne Asher, book 1 in the Dillon Sister Duet, but Damaged had me messed up and then surprisingly satisfied. Like in my review for Deathly, I am not going to say too much so I won’t spoil anything, but just know if you think you know where Briar and Alexander’s story is going to take you, just be prepared! Like the blurb and the title says, Briar is damaged, she is constantly told she is but it is Alexander that sees all of her; the good, the bad and the ugly (not that Briar could ever be ugly, but you know what I mean). And as you delve into their story, you are a witness to every emotion and pain they both go through but you also see how incredibly perfect they are for each other. Briar’s turmoil is so raw and absolutely gut-wrenching and Alexander is just as damaged but what they give to each other is exactly what the other needs and maybe a little bit of hope. Now it's been established that this is dark, darker than anything this author has ever written but there are some light moments sprinkled throughout which evens things out a bit. The writing is also top-notched and powerful, there were so many moments where I actually felt what Briar was feeling.

These two books can definitely be read as a stand-alone but you would really miss out on these incredible sisters, who are absolutely dedicated to each other, and the men who they love and love them back whole-heartedly. In reading these books, you will be taken on an incredible ride, with twists and turns and emotions all over the place. They are a must-read and I highly recommend them.
After reading this book I just had to lay there and take in what I had just finished. This review is going to be one my shortest because I do not want to give anything away. When I started this book I seriously could not put it down, the story just hooked me from the very beginning and would not let me go. The chemistry and intensity between Aria and Brand was out of this world. Like it has been mentioned many times already, this one is so different from any other book by this author and she blew it out of the water! Normally I would like to know what the story was going to be about but for some reason I hadn’t even read the blurb so went in completely blind, what an experience that was! So many swoony moments, body tingling moments, and jaw dropping moments! I want to say more, but I won’t. Normally I pick my top 10 reads at the end of the year, but I’ve already added this one for 2021, it was just that good.
Holy cow! This latest by Brynne Asher was so good, I devoured it in one sitting. I'm not sure if it was because I had not eaten dinner yet (my pups and I had a very very late dinner), but I was jittery throughout the book because I didn't know what was going to happen next. The characters of Eli and Jen were perfect. Eli is the strong, smart and protective FBI agent that will do whatever he has to, no matter the consequences, to keep Jen safe. Jen, who is currently the Chief Financial Officer of Montgomery Industries, is just as strong and intelligent yet a vulnerable heroine that you just can’t help but root for. I really am sounding like a broken record when describing the hero and heroine of the books I read these days, but it's just what I love. The chemistry between these two was seriously hot and the storyline and suspense will keep you on your toes. There are so many twists and turns and once you think you know what will happen next but then it goes sideways. It was awesome!

I don’t know if I am explaining this right but when I finished this book, I remember thinking that this was another great Brynne Asher book, I’ve read almost all of her books (Little Black Dress is not available right now) and I found she just has this writing style that is all hers. You just know going in that you will be getting a top-notch love story that will have the heat and heart of great characters. Bad Situation definitely has that and so much more! I highly highly recommend this book.
Brynne Asher is one of my favorite authors so I am always anxiously waiting for the next book. Broken Halo, book 2 in the Montgomery series, was simply fantastic. I literally sighed when I finished this book. I felt so much reading Trig and Ellie’s story. In the previous book, Bad Situation, we all get an inkling that Trig and Ellie’s history is extreme. Their past is filled with such anger and gut-wrenching sadness. My heart hurt for all that they had lost and then to learn more of what separated them was maddening to say the least. When all secrets and miscommunications are revealed it was both difficult and also a relief, relief that they finally have the second chance we all want for them. There are definitely still outside sources that make their way to a happily ever after hard, but Trig and Ellie are more mature and stronger now. Even when they were at their angriest, the chemistry and love they had felt for each other was still so strong.

There were quite a few surprises that threw me for a loop, but this is why I love this author’s books so much; you get an amazing storyline, feel all these emotions, and right when you think you know what is going to happen, you get sucked right back into turmoil. Trig and Ellie’s story has all that, so to finally be able to see them healed and finally together was so satisfying. Then we get that amazing epilogue that gives us a glimpse into the future of all the happiness that surrounds them. I absolutely loved this book so much! Definitely a 5-star read!
Scars is another fantastic 5 stars read! After reading the snippets of Cole and Bella at the end of Veils I had to have their story!! To say Bella is a bada$$ is such an understatement, she is one the most resourceful MI6 operatives around. On the outside she is all feminine but she can kicka$$ like the best of them. Unfortunately she is down now and needs Cole to help heal physically and may be the one to heal her emotionally.

Right from the very beginning their story is intense. Cole and Bella have worked together for years, and throughout those years they have grown very close, they definitely act on their attraction to one another, but due to their jobs and personal responsibilities nothing could come of it and Cole had to let her go. But now that she is in the States and pretty much unable to leave, his campaign to keep her forever is now on and he is willing to do whatever he has to.

There are so many twists and turns in this story. Why was Bella in the states, why is she being targeted, and the ultimate question of how to make her realize she belongs with Cole. We get the answers to all these questions, but you are definitely taken on a bumpy ride! I loved it all! The secondary characters definitely add to their journey, we have family, neighbors and of course Crew Vega’s team and the women in their lives and they all support them along the way.

I absolutely recommend this book and the rest of the Killers series. I can not wait to see what is coming next!
Holy cow, this book was absolutely fantastic!! Brynne Asher always creates the best alphas around and Noah Jarvis definitely tops the list. He knows exactly what and who he wants and does whatever that is needed to get it. It was awesome how we were able to traipse around the world with them individually and then together. Noah and Gracie’s love story is full of intense and explosive chemistry, anticipation of what was to come and the ultimate happily ever after.

On top of what I’ve already listed, we have the great suspense driven storyline that definitely keeps you guessing, and the heartbreaking and tragic past for both but then to see the healing powers they give to each other.

I really do not want to say anything more, but I do want to say the familiar faces we see adds so much to the greatness of this book. I highly recommend this book and all the others from this amazing author!! 5-stars all the way!
It has been a couple of years since I’ve read this book and it was as good, if not better than I remember it being (my rating changed from 4 stars to 5 stars). I just have to say, Brynne Asher is so consistent with creating the best characters! I loved Maya and Grady so much! Maya has been in hiding and closed herself off from really getting to know the people around her. Unfortunately for her, with some meddling from Addy and Crew (from Vines) she is unable to keep her distance.

Grady Cain, currently recovering from a mission gone bad, is one grumpy bear of a man and wants to be left alone. But once Addy and Crew found out that Maya has some background in physical therapy both Grady and Maya are reluctantly thrown into each other. These two definitely have some baggage and tried to keep things professional, but the attraction and chemistry made that impossible. And once Maya’s past comes back to cause havoc and places her in danger, all bets are off and Grady was all in.

I absolutely adored the relationship between Grady and Maya. They gave each other exactly what they needed. Maya finally found a place to belong and Grady was finally able to heal, both physically and mentally.

Paths was an amazing read and it was so great to revisit these characters again.
I read this book back in 2017 and really enjoyed it, but re-reading it again reminded me how much I loved Crew, Addy and of course the cows!!! The banter and chemistry between Crew and Addy is so fun and then to add in the little bit of suspense made it amazing!! There is always something about that ex-military, bada$$ alpha male that gets me every time. Crew Vega is all that and so much more! Addy Wentworth was just perfect for Crew, she was always there for him when he needed her and that protective streak he has for her was seriously swoony.

It was so great revisiting this amazing couple, and having read all the books that comes after this one, it was really fun to see snippets of the secondary characters before their own happily ever after. And I can’t not give another shout out to the cows, Harry, Scarlett and Batgirl!!
In this book Paige came across as hard-working, loyal and so down to earth, and as Gabby describes her, "no one feels deeper than Paige-its who she is." Paige is also very family oriented, she has no problems taking care of her nephews for a week and picking up her sister's neighbors children. I love how she is with the kids, especially Jordy and Cara.

As for Cam, he is such a broody "grumpy bear" when we first meet him. He is kind of a jerk, the first meet is not so good... also the second when he accuses her of having a sugar daddy. But then you see him with his kids, talk about swoon worthy! As Cam sees who Paige really is you see the initial, (reluctant) attraction grow, but its not all hearts and rainbows for long, Cam's jerkiness comes into play once again where I wanted to smack him over the head, but it was short lived. Things were good between the two until the ex comes into play and then a bit of suspense with a stalker and Paige's best friend. There was a short break up, which was really heart breaking but was resolved.

All in all, I loved the love story of these two. Cam, once he got over his jerkiness, is the type of hero I love to read about, he is a protector, he is possessive, he is the ultimate alpha. And Paige is quirky, and so kind, she loves with all her heart and she will not settle. The secondary characters were wonderful as well. We see Cam's side of the family and they are a hoot! Even though I have read this book multiple times, I am never bored and seem to love it more each time.
Another wonderful story from one of my long time go-to authors. The Summer of No Attachments takes us on an emotional journey of two different women coming out of some difficult and heartbreaking situations. They are both in different phases in their lives but the love and friendship they have for each other is so strong, they become family.

Ivey Anders, the beloved local veterinarian, has just gotten out of a dead-end relationship. She had felt taken advantage of and left her feeling too needy. She has decided to swear off of any romantic commitments and to just have fun as a single woman. As for her best friend and trusty co-worker, Hope Mage, she is still emotionally recovering from a traumatic event that happened to her four years ago and from the betrayal from her own family. They are complete opposites especially when in it comes to the opposite sex. Ivey is just looking for a fling, freedom to do what she wants and put her desires first. Hope is still nervous around men and the fear is still real whenever one comes too close to her. Both their lives are changed with the appearance of the Meyer men.

Corbin Meyer is new in town to start over with his ten year old son, Justin, who he never knew even existed until recently. With the help from Ivey and Daisy and her litter of pups, they start to forge a wonderful father and son relationship. There is also an instant attraction between Corbin and Ivey themselves. It was wonderful to see them grow into this amazing family. Older brother to Corbin, Lang comes into town after selling his business to be a support for both Corbin and his new nephew. He too felt an instant attraction to Hope, but after learning of her past, he was patient and just plain wonderful to her.

Overall, a great love story for two amazing couples. I loved the sense of family, familial and non-familial, the healing and all the fur-babies!
I just have to say that By a Thread is my favorite of all the books I’ve read by Lucy Score. It has been awhile since I’ve smiled so much throughout a book, but also shed tears. I remember reading snippets of this grumpy grump face on this author’s Facebook feed and feeling intrigued about this unnamed book. I so love a grump who falls in love. Ally and Dominic’s story exceeded all my expectations.

I won’t go into too much detail regarding their story, but just know that Dominic can be a real a$$ and he knows it, but he’s had a tough 18 months since he took over as creative director at his mother’s company and cleaning up a mess left by his father. Seriously he can be such a jerk, but when you get to know him he is absolutely swoon worthy!! As for Ally, she is just plain awesome. She has so much on her plate, I seriously did not know how she was able to survive, but she did with such compassion and determination. She is also one who does not take any crap from anyone and you see that from the very first meet with Dominic.

Their story is not just a rom-com, it also deals with some serious issues that were dealt with amazingly. My heart ached for both Ally and Dominic, they both had so many issues so it was so heartwarming to see how they completed each other.

I absolutely loved this book so much! Ally with her vest fetish (I kind of understand that!), Brownie and the other pups, the banter and nicknames between Ally and Dominic, Dominic’s amazing mom and all the secondary characters and those emails at the end are just the few of the things that made this book one of my favorites of this year. This is definitely a 5-star book and I highly recommend it!
I have to first start off by saying that this book is by far my favorite so far in this series. The unrequited love trope is my all time favorite trope and Devney Perry did an amazing job making us feel all the love and heartache that Kate was feeling. Katherine Gates has been in love with Cash Greer for years, he is her best friend, confidant and also roommate. But to Cash, she is like a little sister and it has taken a toll on her heart. Kate has decided that she has to get away for awhile and maybe try to get over Cash once and for all. The perfect solution was to get on the road and take over the hand off of the Cadillac. Unfortunately for her, the very person she was trying to get away from decided to tag a long.

I really do not know how to convey how much I loved this book. Kate and Cash’s story had so many elements I love in a romance; an awesome heroine, swoony hero, heartbreaking past, love that mends that broken heart. Like the previous runaways, Kate had a difficult history, she internalized it and has not let many people in. Even during the junkyard days, she felt like she was not 100% part of the group. So to finally see her get the happily ever after made my heart so happy for her. As for Cash, he has really been there for Kate throughout the years, and he has always felt protective over her. This was the main reason for tagging along on this road trip. I loved how he really took the time and patience to finally get Kate to confide in him about her past. During this trip, many secrets are revealed from both sides, with many heartbreaking moments, but the love they finally revealed to each other was so beautiful.

I’m going to say it again, I loved this book!! Quarter Miles was definitely another 5-star read and I highly highly recommend it!
