Synopsis

EVERYONE KNOWS THE REDHEAD KILLER
BUT WHO KNEW HIM BETTER THAN HIS WIFE?

Socialite-turned-philanthropist Birdie Fitterling is as wealthy as she is reclusive. Since her husband, Bud, died in prison decades ago after being unmasked as the 'Redhead Killer', she has devoted herself to helping others while refusing to discuss the crime that made him infamous: the murder of twelve women. Thirteen, if evidence found at the time was to be believed.

Octogenarian Birdie has never spoken publicly about her husband. So when freelance journalist Stella Gibb is granted an exclusive interview, it's the opportunity of a lifetime.

But why has she chosen Stella? And why now?

Perhaps because, after decades of speculation, the 'Thirteenth Girl' - Bud's long-rumoured final victim - at last has a name.

Perhaps because Stella has a connection to the case that no one else knows about.

Or perhaps Birdie Fitterling is finally ready to reveal the whole truth about the monster in her marriage.
