It is January 1966 in a world in which the Cuban Missiles Crisis went disastrously wrong and the ‘swinging sixties’ never happened.
Now, on New Year’s Day 1966 the United States finds itself suddenly under attack and plunged into a Second Civil War.
The enemy this time is not from without, it is from within its own tortured soul and wrecked heartlands in the Midwest.
Hundreds of thousands of Americans have died in an orgy of violence, great cities burn and the nightmare legions of the Kingdom of the End of Days suddenly erupt from the ruins of Wisconsin over-running the weakened ‘tripwire’ US Army garrisons along the borders, and within hours the whole Midwest is transformed into a hellish battleground threatening to split the Union asunder.
The legacy of the October War has not been peace but war and now that war is threatening to tear the United States apart.
But sometimes it is only utmost adversity that allows a nation to rediscover its manifest destiny. Is this the end of a dream or a time for heroes to stride hallowed grounds desecrated by rebels and traitors?
Or a civil war which will destroy the Union from within.
Author’s note to readers: since the publication of ‘Operation Anadyr’ in October 2014, the Timeline 10/27/62 series has branched into and explored a number of additional narrative arcs and themes, and in several standalone stories.
For my readers who prefer to read the Timeline 10/27/62 books in the chronological order of the overall narrative arc ONLY IN AMERICA = 22.
