Alex Kade and Shanan Sullivan, along with their college friends, have made it down the mountain and into the goings-on of the local Colorado mountain town. Two have split from the pack leaving the four to find temporary housing and a purpose before the final trek home to Texas.

While the four remaining students hunker down, the two, who split off, become entangled with a drifter and killer of men and women alike. Taken hostage in a remote cabin, they will do anything to break free before they become his next victims.

Meanwhile, Shanan's father, the high-ranking Colonel, is amassing a top-notch crew who will locate each of their family's survivors one by one, backed by the equipment and training of the US military.

At best, the politics in this small mountain town has become complicated, with bloodshed replacing votes, and Alex is caught in the middle, hoping for a quick way out.
