Synopsis

The post-apocalyptic world continues to provide dangerous enemies at every turn, as Lance and his ever-dwindling group negotiate a long and convoluted detour through the Colorado Rockies.
On every pass and behind every boulder, danger lies in wait. Mountain dwellers, intent on keeping their scant resources for themselves, are prepared to kill to do so, while some others are only concerned for the safety of their families.
As Lance desperately seeks safe passage through the hostile terrain, he risks losing his dog Ringo, while internal strife also rears its head and imperils their progress. Meanwhile, in the town of Weston, tensions are growing and it’s only a matter of time before it explodes, threatening to engulf the Raton Pass Militia and consume it, once and for all.
And still in the back of his mind, lurking in the shadows, is the danger posed by Ralph and his fanatical followers. Mac is hopeful he may have seen the last of that band of crazies but he is only too aware that they could reappear at any stage.
Meanwhile, at Saddle Ranch, Lance’s ultimate destination, the Colonel makes a surprise visit in the hope that he and the weapons he carries with him will tilt the odds in their favor.
