Synopsis

No one wants war, but Jacob Emerick can see it coming. The King won't bend, the Puritans keep pushing, religion and politics are a dangerous mix. Jacob intends to keep his skin whole but foresees a few problems in the way.

Jacob's family are Merchant shippers and it's up to lawyer Jacob to save them from Puritans, who want their ships kept out of the King's hands, and the Fowkes, who want to call in a loan and put the money and ships into the King’s hands. Of course the King wants the ships and will reward anyone who gets them for him. Jacob has to prevent the Fowkes demanding repayment of the loan, and keep the ships out of the way of either party. But the King's people play very rough, as do the Puritans, murder is their game, and Jacob faces real danger.
