Agatha Christie began her writing career writing short stories and serials for various British weekly magazines. One of her earliest works is the Hercule Poirot Mystery entitled 'The Man Who Was Number Four' originally published in 12 weekly installments in 1924 in the British magazine The Sketch.
It has been recovered and is now available in digitized format for the first time in its complete original format. 'The Man Who Was Number Four' was eventually published in book form in 1927 with many changes, additions and deletions as 'The Big Four'.
Each of the 12 original installments contain a mystery story within the context of the main mystery of 'The Man Who Was Number Four'. You can see Agatha Christie's brilliant writing style and story formation was already fully developed at this stage of her career.
