Synopsis

Dominic Moretti was dealing with a lot of issues. Life hadn't been easy since returning home from Afghanistan. His marriage was on the rocks, his sports betting was out of control, and he was hanging out with the wrong cronies in Manhattan's Little Italy—just another war hero who couldn't piece his life back together in the real world. Also, there was that strange, annoying feeling that he was being watched . . .

Humankind was indeed being evaluated, by the highly advanced Khantam Lom, an alien species in control of much of the galaxy. Did this selfish, war-mongering, human race warrant protection from the soon-to be-invading Wikk Empire? An insectile species with insatiable appetites, the Wikk were hell-bent on subjugating Earth as one of their many farming settlements.

So the adventure begins. Dominic inadvertently saves the life of a Khantam Lom Observer, and everything changes. Humankind has but one—seeming impossible—shot at avoiding a catastrophic fate. Dominic won't be able to do it alone, but will the ragtag team he's assembled be enough? Will any of them survive long enough to make a difference?

Reviews:
Fantastic Sci Fi Romance!
Guardian Ship is great military science fiction with some sci fi romance... a winning combination --Marissa Briggs

Not since Scrapyard Ship...
I read Guardian Ship in one night. Mark Wayne McGinnis has done it again. Mark has continued to entertain me for years. It started with his first book, the classic, Scrapyard Ship. Thank you Mr. McGinnis. --Randy Styles

Exciting Scifi Space Opera!!
MWM does scifi space opera like no other author. I always look for his books because they are the opposite of a formula. Twists and turns, great characters, interesting aliens, space battles, sci fi romance and just plain great military science fiction. As always, well done. --KP

Military Science Fiction.
Exciting military science fiction space opera. Mark Wayne McGinnis is an intelligent and thoughtful author who knows how to spin a great tale. His space battles are so fun and dynamic that I find myself feeling as if I am in them. He also has an uncanny knack for creating characters that you feel as if you know, and you can't help to route for them... his alien creations are particularly interesting, not run of the mill. Thank you Mr. McGinnis, for hours, days and months of entertainment. --Bill

Super Alien Invasion!
Guardian Ship is one of the most unique takes on an alien invasion that I have read in years. The characters jump off the page in a way that is riveting. I read this book in two days. It would have been one day, but I had to sleep. --Sue Conti

Love the Space Battles.
What a great military science fiction space opera! MWM has the best series of space battles... ever since his best selling (first book), Scrapyard Ship. And each of his books has a compelling sci fi romance, not too over the top, just enough to keep you interested. I don't know how the author does it. I believe he's a bit of a genius. --Frank Blythe

Keep 'em Coming!
I'm a fan, a big fan. MWM is probably my favorite military science fiction author. And that says a lot. I enjoy BV Larson and Craig Alanson, but they can be formulamatic. But Mark McGinnis has the the most incredible imagination, the way he comes up with believable, but, at the same time, unbelievable scenarios. It's really awesome. If you love space battles, alien invasion stories, space opera, or anything along those lines you really have to read Mark Wayn McGinnis. I guarantee you will become hooked like I am. --DJ

Fantastic Characters.
This author always delivers a compelling story to read. Love how this one introduces some fantastic characters that evolve as the story evolves. An unusual group to because but what they accomplished is nothing short of saving the earth. From start to finish the story is a very fun and compelling read. Pick it up and see for yourself. --KC
