Publishers Weekly has called this series "a refreshing read." In the Chihuahuan desert near the Texas-Mexico border, Texana Jones runs an isolated trading post. One afternoon during a jalapeNo pepper eating contest, a boy enters the shack and announces that his father-The River Master-has been murdered.
