Told from numerous third person perspectives BLAZE follows several interconnected pathways including the building relationship between Blaze and Neo. Kendrick ‘Blaze’ Foster has lusted after Neoma LeBarre since she first arrived in Oak Creek, Wyoming but like everyone, Neo had her secrets, secrets the Linear Tactical team were starting to uncover but the group known as Mosaic has resurfaced, and with it, the hunt Dr. Claude Sevier, a specialist in artificial intelligence. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Blaze and Neo, and the potential fall-out as Mosaic sets its sights on our story line heroine, targeting everyone she loves including someone from her past.
Meanwhile, Dorian Lindstrom and wife Ray, settle in seclusion, discover two young children, living alone on the outskirts of their property, foraging for themselves to eat and survive. Told they were waiting for the return of their grandfather, Dorian and Ray would soon find themselves guardians and protectors of two children they were about to call their own.
BLAZE is detailed and complex ensemble storyline wherein several members of the Linear Tactical team pull together to protect one of their own but Kendrick sees betrayal at the heart of his relationship with Neo LeBarre, and in this Kendrick struggles to forgive the woman with whom he was falling in love. As the team steps in to help, Neo finds herself caught between head and heart knowing she is about to betray someone she loves. The premise is intriguing and twisted; the romance is seductive; the characters are energetic, colorful and dynamic. We are introduced to Ian DeRose, owner of Zodiac Tactical, a private security contractor, and his right hand man Landon Black. Ian and Waverly Bolinger’s story line is next in the first instalment of the spin off series Zodiac Tactical.

This book brings to an end one of my favorite series, once again Janie Crouch produces an amazing read. Kendrick and Neo are simply made for each other, but the journey to their HEA is filled with danger, deceit, lies, but also friendships, love and family. Very well written with a wonderful storyline that neatly ties up the Linear Tactical series and gives a peek into the coming Zodiac Tactical series, which I cannot wait to read.

This book had me hooked from the very first scene. It started out intense but playful and it was a great way to showcase several of my favorite LT characters and draw the reader into the story! Blaze was about on par with the rest of the LT books, angst-wise, and there was just enough interpersonal conflict and angst to keep things spicy without making the reader feel bogged down. The plot was quick-moving and it hopped around a bit between the main story and Ray and Dorian’s side-plot but still was cohesive, and then the two stories resolved into one at the end. I really enjoyed this book, and as with all the other Linear Tactical books I will definitely be rereading it! I’m sad that this series has come to a close, but excited about the next series that is coming out featuring Ian DeRose and Zodiac Tactical!
