Synopsis

Kendrick and Neo's love story, plus the exciting start of the family Dorian and Ray never thought they would have...

Ivy League graduate and computer genius Kendrick Foster, aka Blaze, never expected to find himself putting down permanent roots in a tiny Wyoming town.

But family isn’t always blood, and the Linear Tactical team is very definitely his family. He’s not going anywhere.

Neo LeBarre has always been a loner. Her computer hacking days brought her into contact with Linear Tactical, but she’s never felt like she could fit in here. These people are good, decent, honest.

She’s not.

When her past catches up with her, demanding more than she can possibly pay, Neo will have to turn the heroes surrounding her, especially Kendrick, to help. If they'll even give her the time of day after what she's done.

There's a danger closing in—one that will threaten to rip them all apart.

The Linear Tactical family has deep roots.

They're going to need them to survive what’s coming.

This! This right here is one more reason Janie Crouch is a must-read author for me. At this point, I've stopped saying this is my favorite couple because you can bet that this author will prove me wrong with the next book. So, I'll just say that Kendrick and Neo are another great couple in a whole series of great couples. We're twelve books in and this one is a tough one since it's the last in the series. Of course, it's full of all the excitement and danger I've come to expect, and in addition to Kendrick and Neo's story, we get a little more for Dorian and Ray, who also have...

I don't want to spoil it for anyone, so I'll just say that Blaze is one more unputdownable read in the Linear Tactical series. I've loved them all, and thankfully, the beauty of books is I can revisit these characters any time. And since I'm pretty sure that Crouch can not write a bad story, I'm looking forward to whatever is next.

BLAZE is the twelfth and final instalment in Janie Crouch’s contemporary, adult LINEAR TACTICAL romantic suspense series focusing on the men and women who work for Linear Tactical , an Oak Creek, Wyoming business focusing on survival skills, security and protection. This is IT hackers Kendrick ‘Blaze’ Foster, and Neoma ‘Neo’ LeBarre’s storyline. BLAZE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from numerous third person perspectives BLAZE follows several interconnected pathways including the building relationship between Blaze and Neo. Kendrick ‘Blaze’ Foster has lusted after Neoma LeBarre since she first arrived in Oak Creek, Wyoming but like everyone, Neo had her secrets, secrets the Linear Tactical team were starting to uncover but the group known as Mosaic has resurfaced, and with it, the hunt Dr. Claude Sevier, a specialist in artificial intelligence. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Blaze and Neo, and the potential fall-out as Mosaic sets its sights on our story line heroine, targeting everyone she loves including someone from her past.

Meanwhile, Dorian Lindstrom and wife Ray, settle in seclusion, discover two young children, living alone on the outskirts of their property, foraging for themselves to eat and survive. Told they were waiting for the return of their grandfather, Dorian and Ray would soon find themselves guardians and protectors of two children they were about to call their own.

BLAZE is detailed and complex ensemble storyline wherein several members of the Linear Tactical team pull together to protect one of their own but Kendrick sees betrayal at the heart of his relationship with Neo LeBarre, and in this Kendrick struggles to forgive the woman with whom he was falling in love. As the team steps in to help, Neo finds herself caught between head and heart knowing she is about to betray someone she loves. The premise is intriguing and twisted; the romance is seductive; the characters are energetic, colorful and dynamic. We are introduced to Ian DeRose, owner of Zodiac Tactical, a private security contractor, and his right hand man Landon Black. Ian and Waverly Bolinger’s story line is next in the first instalment of the spin off series Zodiac Tactical.

This book brings to an end one of my favorite series, once again Janie Crouch produces an amazing read. Kendrick and Neo are simply made for each other, but the journey to their HEA is filled with danger, deceit, lies, but also friendships, love and family. Very well written with a wonderful storyline that neatly ties up the Linear Tactical series and gives a peek into the coming Zodiac Tactical series, which I cannot wait to read.

Janie Crouch does it again! Blaze is the last book in the Linear Tactical series, which I have loved since the beginning. Unlike the other books in the series, which are written from the dual perspectives of the main characters, Blaze was written from the perspectives of Kendrick Foster and Neo LaBarre, as well as the perspective of Dorian and Ray Lindstrom, the main characters from an earlier LT book, Ghost. I wasn’t sure how I’d like this perspective switch, but it added so much to the story and was a really great way to wrap up not only the series but Dorian and Ray’s story...

I wasn’t sure how I’d like this perspective switch, but it added so much to the story and was a really great way to wrap up not only the series but Dorian and Ray’s story as well!

This book had me hooked from the very first scene. It started out intense but playful and it was a great way to showcase several of my favorite LT characters and draw the reader into the story! Blaze was about on par with the rest of the LT books, angst-wise, and there was just enough interpersonal conflict and angst to keep things spicy without making the reader feel bogged down. The plot was quick-moving and it hopped around a bit between the main story and Ray and Dorian’s side-plot but still was cohesive, and then the two stories resolved into one at the end. I really enjoyed this book, and as with all the other Linear Tactical books I will definitely be rereading it! I’m sad that this series has come to a close, but excited about the next series that is coming out featuring Ian DeRose and Zodiac Tactical!
