Falling for the Beast. What a perfect title for this second in the duet, and not just because of the Beauty and the Beast retelling. We get to see the darker side of Blake in this one along with how Erin responds to that darkness. At the same time, the angst isn't what I expected, especially after everything that happened in the first book. That's not to say this one doesn't have its share of angst. It's just different than I expected. If it feels like I'm talking in circles, there's a good reason for that - I'm doing my best to stay away from spoiler territory. This book does have its secrets, but I think I'll let them stay secret until each listener discovers them for themselves. Narration by Stephen Dexter and Lia Langola is just as good as it was in the first. These narrators do such a good job of bringing out the emotion. All in all, this second in the duet is a nice finish and it's another reason I need to add more Skye Warren to my TBR.

It's been a while since I've had the chance to sit down with a book by Skye Warren, but not so long that I'd forgotten how good her writing is and how quickly she pulls the reader into the story. Anyway, I expected good things with this book and I got them. There are several reasons to like this Beauty and the Professor. First, it's hot enough that I think I was blushing even with earbuds so no one else could hear. Thankfully, those earbuds were wireless, so I didn't have to worry about spontaneous combustion as those scenes heated up. Then, there's the brilliant cover. I absolutely love that cover, and in my opinion, it's worth a star all on its own. Next, we have the storyline. Okay, we all know the basics of the fairytale, so it's really about the characters. These have terrific chemistry, and it doesn't take them long to start falling for each other. Skye Warren takes it a bit further, and we have characters with a lot of self-doubt and low self-esteem. The reasons for each are different, but they both need and deserve some TLC and a place to feel safe and loved. Last but certainly not least is the narration. Both Stephen Dexter and Lia Langola do such a good job with this book. Every emotion comes through in their performances - whether it's a tug on the heartstrings or some of that earlier-mentioned heat or everything in between, it all comes through loud and clear. That sums it up without too much detail. Well, except the ending, which is a cliffy, of course. I knew to expect it since this is the first in a duet, and it wasn't hard to figure out the gist of what would happen, but I wasn't expecting every part of that. Yep, that's right, no spoilers! I would suggest you give this one a gander if you haven't already and find out the missing details for yourself.

This Jane Eyre retelling story with contemporary elements and more steam started in the best way. We have Jane who's character has great new differences as well as Beau Rochester, without him living the charm we all fell in love with. Their story is full of sensuality and intimacy, will make you burn. The age gap and forbidden love will captivate you and have you reading this in no time. Remember is the start of a new trilogy, the secretes and mystery will leave you wanting the next one. Brilliant 5-stars!
