About the author
Roy Hoffman is an award-winning journalist and author of five books. A native of Mobile, he spent years as a reporter and teacher in New York City, and was a speechwriter for New York Governor Mario Cuomo. Roy's essays have been widely published in The New York Times, The Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal. He has reviewed the work of Pat Conroy, Jane Smiley, Frances Mayes, Jill McCorkle and Ellen Gilchrist among others for The New York Times Book Review.
