Poppy Gee is the author of two literary thrillers, Bay of Fires and Vanishing Falls. These novels are set in Tasmania, a beautiful island off the southern coast of Australia, where Poppy grew up. Poppy likes taking a beautiful setting and flipping it to reveal the dark underside of society. She's a fan of small-town mysteries, and novels which are puzzles within puzzles, and Vanishing Falls and Bay of Fires follow this crime fiction tradition with ordinary women finding themselves in extraordinary circumstances. In each novel, a woman’s disappearance is the first crime the reader sees, and it provides each novel’s scaffold, but be warned... it is not necessarily the darkest crime in the story!
