Since Heart of Malice (Alice Worth Book 1) was published in June 2017, I have written six more full-length novels, a 40,000-word novella (Blood Money), and two short novellas (Just For One Night and From the Ashes). My writing process has changed and evolved with each new endeavor, as I try new things, abandon methods that don’t work as well as newer ideas I’ve discovered, and am now working on my eighth (!!!!) full-length novel, which is the first book in a spin-off trilogy featuring one of my favorite supporting characters from the Alice Worth series.
With each book, I have more characters, settings, plot threads, and ideas to juggle. Each book is its own self-contained story (the central mystery Alice needs to solve), but there are subplots that run from one book to the next, as well as ongoing character development and big series plot arcs that carry from Book 1 all the way to the eventual end.
