Cowboy Ever After. Jennie Marts. 2022. Hallmark Publishing (ARC eBook).

Romance author Kaylee Collins is struggling with achieving realism in her romance stories about cowboys an ranching. To help, her editor Faye send Kaylee to the ranch of Faye’s brother, Luke, to gain real-life experience with the people and lifestyle. There hasn’t been a Jennie Marts book I met and haven’t liked. Overall, an engaging romance with sweet characters and small town charm.

How to Cowboy (Creedence Horse Rescue #3). Jennie Marts. 2021. Sourcebooks Casablanca (eBook ARC)

In addition to the cowboys, horses and other rascally animals, How to Cowboy reunites a father and daughter, ex-bull rider Cade and Allison; and introduces them to Nora, a physical therapist. There is chemistry for the romance and some heart to the story of Cade and Allison reconciling. But Allison was pretty bratty (which yea, understandable, but still annoying). And Cade and Nora were a bit too speedy in starting up. I always look forward to a Creedence story from Marts, and while this was not my favorite of the Creedence Horse Rescue series, it was overall an enjoyable read.

A great first in series introduction to mystery writer Bailey, her daughter Daisy and the Hive, her beekeeper grandmother and her ‘book club’. The cast is likeable, the setting charming and there’s secrets galore still lingering after the shocking conclusion of book one making me want to dive into a sequel!

Never Enough Cowboy (Creedence Horse Rescue #4). By Jennie Marts. 2022. Sourcebooks Casablanca (ARC eBook).

Jillian is a single mom who has moved with her son Milo to Creedence to be close to her sister and leave her complicated past behind. Deputy Sheriff Ethan Rayburn and Jillian frequently cross paths at the Creedence Horse Rescue, and while the good-looking and equally as good-natured Ethan is hard to ignore, Jillian is hesitant to go beyond friendship, believing that her past could be discovered and used to hurt Ethan’s chances in his bid for Sheriff. With its blend of romance, emotion, wit, drama, and ever-entertaining animals, Never Enough Cowboy is easily a recommended read.

Rescuing Harmony Ranch. By Jennie Marts. 2021. Hallmark Publishing (ARC eBook).

Jocelyn and Mack were teenage friends and rivals who had crushes on each other, but they each have gone their own way. But after a phone call from her grandma asking for her help, Jocelyn returns to Harmony Creek, Colorado, and her grandma’s Harmony Ranch. Now she runs into Mack again, who works as a blacksmith at the ranch, which operates as a living history museum and in in financial trouble. As the two join forces to fund-raise money they get to know each other again.

I wanted to like it more, but it just didn’t have the appeal I’ve found in Marts’ Cowboys of Creedence and Creedence Horse Rescue series. This is a Hallmark published book, so through that lens, Rescuing Harmony Ranch meets the tried and true romance benchmarks, but I never felt the chemistry.
