Ebonya Lia is a 2023 Kweli Writing Fellow who has studied fiction with CRIT and Hurston/Wright. She is a Professor of Economics at Columbia University, and her publications include academic articles and journalism. Like Harmony, she is a middle-aged Black woman living with undiagnosed illness. Exhausted by “handling it so well,” blowing up her life is her fantasy.
