Diana Rodriguez Wallach Follow

Diana Rodriguez Wallach is a multi-published author of young adult novels. Her latest, Small Town Monsters (YA Latinx horror), was released in September 2021 through Random House’s Underlined imprint. Her next YA horror, Hatchet Girls, is set to publish in hardback in Fall 2023 via Random House’s Delacorte imprint.

She is also the author of the Anastasia Phoenix series (Entangled Publishing), a YA spy thriller trilogy. The first book, Proof of Lies, was a finalist for the 2018 International Thriller Awards for Best Young Adult Novel and has been optioned for film. Bustle named her one of the “Top Nine Latinx Authors to Read for Women’s History Month 2017,” and Paste included Proof of Lies in its “Top 10 Best Young Adult Books for March 2017.”

Diana has written three YA contemporary Latina novels—Amor and Summer Secrets, Amigas and School Scandals, and Adios to All the Drama (Kensington Books). Amor and Summer Secrets earned second place at the 2009 International Latino Book Awards for Best Young Adult Novel. She also published the YA short-story collection Mirror, Mirror (Buzz Books, 2013).

Her nonfiction includes an essay in Dear Bully: 70 Authors Tell Their Stories (HarperCollins, 2011), the only piece from the anthology selected by Scholastic for classroom materials. She is also featured in the anthology Latina Authors and Their Muses (Twilight Times Books, 2015).

Diana taught Creative Writing at Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Talented Youth for six years, mentors through SCBWI and Las Musas, and currently leads creative writing workshops in schools across the Northeast. She holds a B.S. in Journalism from Boston University and lives in the Philadelphia area with her husband, two children, and two cats.
