David Rosenfelt Follow
David Rosenfelt is an American author who has written thirty-three novels and three TV movies.
The novelist has 27 dogs, a position he never planned for and never could have predicted. His childhood in Paterson, New Jersey, was typical—middle of three brothers, loving parents, a middle-class home.
He graduated from NYU and joined the movie industry, quickly rising to President of Marketing at Tri-Star Pictures. Though his career included successes like “Rambo” and “Rocky,” he also buried countless failures.
After leaving the movie business, he pursued writing, selling many scripts that never made it to film and a few TV movies with little cultural impact.
Fourteen years ago, he and his wife founded the Tara Foundation, rescuing nearly 4,000 dogs. Their home became a sanctuary for dogs too old or sick to be adopted, and it is here, surrounded by these dogs, that he writes.

This is a great listen. The narrator infuses the right amount of humor and tension into the scenes and characters. Best in Snow is the first Andy Carpenter book for me, but Andy and a couple of other characters (and dogs) are in Rosenfelt’s K9 Team series, of which I’ve read/listened to a couple of. Overall, an entertaining story.

Private investigator Corey Douglas and his partners of the K Team take on a case of a murdered woman who Corey recognizes as a women he tried to help when he was a cop responding to a domestic violence call. He’s sure he knows who is responsible for the murder, but the investigation takes unexpected twists when he himself becomes the focus of the police and more bodies begin to drop. Corey and his girlfriend Dani might have to rely on his canine partner, Simon Garfunkle’s, instincts to stay alive. An entertaining mystery with action and solid teamwork, both with Simon and the rest of the members (and honorary members) of the K Team.
