Dan Clay had a pretty normal life until he dressed up as the iconic Carrie Bradshaw for Halloween. His homage to the icon main character of HBO’s Sex and the City went viral, and he took it as an opportunity to spread a little sunshine online. Thus, “Carrie Dragshaw” was born. One part drag, one part writing, ten parts positivity, the authenticity that “Carrie” both nurtured and demanded had Dan chasing authenticity in all corners of life—including an unspoken but unmistakable dream of being a writer. Dan lives in New York and, outside of writing, works for a climate change nonprofit. Becoming a Queen is his debut novel.
