Washington, DCCraig Laurance Gidney writes both contemporary and genre fiction that blends the lyrical with the uncanny. He is the author of the story collections Sea, Swallow Me & Other Stories (Lethe Press, 2008) and Skin Deep Magic (Rebel Satori Press, 2014), the young adult novel Bereft (Tiny Satchel Press, 2013), and the acclaimed novel A Spectral Hue (Word Horde, 2019).
Gidney’s work has been recognized with numerous honors, including the Susan C. Petrey Scholarship to Clarion West (1996), multiple Lambda Literary Award finalist nods, and the Gaylactic Spectrum Award finalist for “A Bird of Ice.” Bereft earned both a Bronze Moonbeam Medal and a Silver IPPY Medal in 2014, while A Spectral Hue was named to the 2019 Carl Brandon Parallax Honor List.
