Behind the books
My latest book, Find Her, which is included in the Her Silent Shadow boxset, is the culmination of three story ideas. The first was inspired by a short story I wrote years ago, about a mall security guard who was obsessed with a woman who works in one of the stores. What I love about this idea is the creepy sense that you can't trust the people who are supposed to be taking care of you. The second idea was a scene that popped into my mind about a cop responding to a burglary, which seems innocuous at first, but turns out to be anything but. The scene was filled with a group of small-town characters that were a lot of fun to write. I scribbled it down just to capture it, hoping I might use it someday. And the third idea concerned something shocking that the suspect does once he’s in custody that turns this case on its head. Those three ideas combined in a way that I hope readers find entertaining and compelling.
