Avery Flynn always makes me laugh and leaves me with biggest smile and warmest heart for the characters in her books. I love that her books show the messy side of love, romance and life. This is the second book in the Downsides of Dating series and just like the first this is a steam your glasses book that just shines.

This book gave away the love interests right away which was unusual. It however spent a good portion of the first half of them playing cat and mouse with each other and themselves!
Once they finally got over themselves and let go 95 percent on his side and 110 percent on hers they flourished!
Then a statement from her brother to Will had him back to not trusting her and running away with his head in the sand. That was interesting and yet predictable (this IS a romance novel lol)!
But that it took his brother meddling AGAIN 😂 to help him see what he was doing was quite fun!
This is narrated solo by Kelsey Navarro. She is so talented! Male and Female voice swap with ease. ❤️
Minor Spoiler:
I hope Harley’s sister gets a boo someday! She deserves it!

What a cute, fun and intensely smexy read!
I absolutely adored Kinsey. Because she’s always been judged by her looks and accent, she’s learned ways to handle it in a way that I totally support and admire all while laughing myself silly. With her southern belle sweet to top off her stark rebuttals, I want to be her! The fact that she was so perfect for Griff due to her own nerdiness had me cheering her on all the way.
Griff is that amazing hero that rarely talks. When he does he tends to bumble what he’s trying to say so he tends to do a lot of grunting. While he wasn’t as neanderthal as I expected outside of the bedroom, once things heated up between Kinsey and him, he became one heck of a dirty talker. Oh lord, he was panty melting hot! Add in the fact that he first fell in love with Kinsey’s brain before he ever laid eyes on her, and I had reached my swoon level.
There isn’t a lot of drama to this story. Just a touch towards the end. However, it’s filled with the decisions, actions, and reactions of this couple as they wade through a fake dating situation and find themselves falling (or in Griff’s position - having already fallen) in love.
I didn’t read the first book and I was never lost or confused, although I’d like to go back and read it just to get more of the Becketts. This family is hilarious. Their interactions had me grinning as they antagonized one another - much like my own family does!
Highly recommend this delicious rom-com that not only has lots of heat but plenty of heart as well!

If you are after the perfect book that will have you laughing, nodding your head as you read, a little hot and realising that life is what you make it then look no further than this book from powerhouses Avery Flynn and Tracy Wolff. It’s everything!!!
I accidentally inhaled this book because I was so engrossed in Mallory’s story and I don’t regret a single moment.
I went into this book expecting an entertaining read and what I got was a book that had everything I wanted, needed and didn’t know I needed. From a hot a neighbour, family drama, finding yourself when you least expect it and a room full of vibrators (yes you read that right and it’s one of my favourite scenes) and the best scene ever when Mallory gives the proverbial middle finger to her HOA, I loved everything about this book and have no doubt you will too.
This is an unexpected writing duo that I absolutely can’t wait for more from. Please, please, please make that happen!
