Kansas CityAdib Khorram is a queer Iranian American author of fiction for all ages. His debut YA novel, Darius the Great Is Not Okay, won the William C. Morris Debut Award, the Asian/Pacific American Award for Young Adult Literature, a Boston Globe–Horn Book Honor, and was named one of TIME’s 100 Greatest YA Novels of All Time. His other YA books—Darius the Great Deserves Better, Kiss & Tell, The Breakup Lists, and One Word, Six Letters—have earned critical acclaim, awards, and bestseller status.
His adult debut, I’ll Have What He’s Having, was a USA Today Bestseller, followed by It Had to Be Him. He is also the author of picture books including Seven Special Somethings: A Nowruz Story, Bijan Always Wins (Missouri’s selection for the Library of Congress’s 2025 Great Reads from Great Places), and Tea Is Love.
He lives in Kansas City, Missouri, where people rarely talk about themselves in the third person.
